There was talk about this a while back, but it seems to have gone a bit quiet.
It might not be as organised as first thought, but I'm still well up for having a bit of a day out. Anyone else still keen, or am I going by myself?

Id seriously be up for it. Happy days. Perhaps just need to name a pub, meet up and take it from there.
Incidentaly the original club worked because people were prepared to take significant time in making it so which is why it doesnt work these days. Nice concept but nobody takes responsibility

I had looked at the train for this, but it takes 1 1/2 hours from Hartford (Northwich main line) to Wigan, I have to get on a train to Crewe first and then back past Hartford to Wigan, and the same coming back. With me and my pet student the cost would be £46.00 for off peak day return Car it is then and no drinking

Northwich - I did a similar journey not long ago but from Holmes Chapel and it only cost me about 13 quid?

Northwich - I did a similar journey not long ago but from Holmes Chapel and it only cost me about 13 quid? yep it's me being thick in the early morning, the £23 quid was for both of us and not each , so use just to getting a price for myself. But I'm not spending 1 1/2 hours on train when I can do it in 25 mins in the car and it's cheaper.

Nice concept but nobody takes responsibility Yeah naming a pub and meeting there seems a good option, especially as it seems some of us will be travelling from different areas. If I manage to get my bloody father out for it, then we'll be travelling from Manchester, so it makes sense if we all meet somewhere in Pie Land. Just done some research and the Red Robin and the Moon Under Water are 2 pubs that are popular with away fans. Either of those places would probably be a decent meeting spot.

For any old members of the Cheshire Stoke City Supporters' Club who remember Bicko, I've managed to persuade him to come out of a long exile and make the trip to Wigan. It was a long and tough process, but the impossible has been achieved!

Just bumping this in case any old Cheshire Stoke City Supporters' Club members haven't seen it.
The Wigan awayday is definitely happening. The rather loose plan of attack is for everyone to meet up in some pub in Wigan and then have a fucking right day of it. I'm sure there will be a bit more organisation and detail nearer the time!

I'm in Manchester to see the Fall and Badly Drawn Boy that evening. So an afternoon in Wigan would be excellent. Name the pub - I'll be there.

Got some tickets sorted this morning - if anyone hasn't got tickets yet and wants to be next to our small gathering of Cheshire Stokies, then our little party is sat in NS3 Row AA. The rows in front and behind us are available, so it shouldn't be a problem to get a little group together.
Not sure what time we'll be aiming to get there yet but the plan is to go to the Red Robin near the ground. I cannot fucking wait!

Bumping this again in case there are others that want to come.
I've been told to try and track down a fella called Darren that used to come on the Cheshire coaches and another bloke called Scarfman. If anyone knows these two reprobates, then tell them that they're wanted.

The bong bongs took 5k to Wigwam at the weekend they reckon. Any chance of another decent travelling contingent from us?

The bong bongs took 5k to Wigwam at the weekend they reckon. Any chance of another decent travelling contingent from us? I don't think so. We've taken a reduced allocation of 2800 tickets for it, and there are loads left. With 12 days until the game, I can't see us asking for more tickets. If you consider that a lot of fans have just paid for a trip to Valencia and a trip to Anfield on top of that, I can't imagine that too many fans will make the trip to a very un-glamorous game in Pie Land.

It's one of the reasons why we chose this awayday, as we knew that it would be the most likely game that we could sort out getting a load of tickets together.
