Who's motto is that? What a load of rubbish. Look where we are now? Yeah, might be worth you doing that. We are playing Valencia in five days time. Look at the last 4 league games and wake up. Pulis has run out of ideas. No plan b. This valencia talk is boring now mate. When were out of europe and out the fa cup and struggling in the league, will you still be coming out with the same shit week in week out? 4 games? WOW. I prefer to look at the last 4 years. Form is temporary class is permanent.

He won us promotion, but that was against championship sides where his style of football works, the problem is that pulis isn't a premier league manager. true we've been in the prem for 4 seasons now, and never been in the relegation battle, but how much of that has been a fluke? I think a great portion of it has been down to other teams playing crap rather than us playing well. Don't get me wrong i'm not saying pulis is a bad manager, I just don't think he should be trying to force a style of football that just about worked in the championship, into the top flight of english football. Staying in the PL for 3 seasons is a fluke? meh i guess fluke isnt the right word to use, but i still think his play style just isnt working, obviously for the first few seasons it was new and shocked the prem, but now they're all so used to it and know how to defend against it.

People weren't moaning when TP was achieving miracles with a bunch of misfits and previous football failures, and shoving Stoke's success in all the sneerers faces. It was brilliant. The problem now is that he's spent loads of money and got a really good bunch of players into the squad... and now he can't get the right 11 of them on the pitch at the same time. His weak spot was always playing silly buggers with the line-up and now he's got too many to choose from. But it should be pointed out .....Pulis has had a few flakey weeks every season, you know, when his eyes go all stary in the post match interview and he babbles weird stuff.. He normally gets his shit together in the last quarter of the season though.

4 games? WOW. I prefer to look at the last 4 years. Form is temporary class is permanent. Fine words. Unfortunately, whilst having some class players, the berk in charge has no idea how to use them. So, if he continues to use kneejerk reactions as the limit of his brains, our stay in the prem could well come to an end, sooner thatn it should. Whilst we are lucky to have scraped 30pts and will probably survive - just. Can you seriously expect the dross that he is responsible for standing us in good stead for a 5th term. At the moment, he is a tactical apology for a PL manager.

i have just got to reply to this. this f.a.cup final that our tony blew away what ever slim chance we had of winning it, by playing an obviously far from fit matty etherington and i don't even think huth should have played either. the week before we beat arsenal in the league. i know the odds were against us against the money men of man city. the city fans were rubbing their hands when they could see how unfit matty was. to get to the final and blow whatever chance we had was criminal in my view. o.k. he got us in the prem, but only because all the other teams blew it(let's not forget). as i have banged on about time and time again, we could be doing far, far better even, if he would stop making those inane, stubborn team selections we ALL know about. i want stoke to do well in every game, and always have done, but i cannot go along with standing behind this irritating man, just for the sake of it. p.s. i've been a follower of stoke since mattews came back.

The original post is bollocks.
Pulis has been backed to the hilt by Coates money and has spent more than alot of premier league managers.
People should be eternally grateful to Coates not Pulis.

To be fair, it is obvious that he literally always makes the correct decisions. Dropping Pennant, playing Woodgate at RB for ages with Shotton in midfield, not starting Huth at the beginning of the season for no real reason, not giving Walters a rest ever, are all strokes of genius to me! Idiotic and unneccasary sarcasm. This aint champ manager pal. SGS

i'm not even entertaining engaging into a debate with you on this lightbourne. We won't finish mid table on present form, but i agree it would take a fairly immense manager to force our players into unnatural positions as well as Tone does, and leave the majority of talent on the bench...like i said, he's great Now leave me alone, i'm bored of listing Tone's failings On current form yes, What kind of form were we on after we got battered by West Ham and remind me what happened next? Christ, my life would be so much easier if fellow fans had a brain Exactly, you're making her argument for her. Despite any progress made, despite lessons apparently learned. We still keep reverting to the same negative turgid dross that our manager believes to be football.

There wouldnt be half as much disgruntlement if he just bloody played the strongest team playing to our best suited tactics.
TP has continually said about the best needs of the club. Well, when your fall out with a certain player means you sacrificing JP, deciding that playing with two wingers is a luxury, keeps on shoe-horning players in who may run about a bit more over those technically better etc...then I believe that TP is putting his own personal agendas above what is right for the club. We arent a shit footballing team, we're just being made to look that way!
I think that his insistence to look after those who got us where we came from (mama, salif, diao, whelan etc) provides him with some kind of security, ensures that we always have to limit out play to the lowest common denominator.
I'd love to see what damage a Fuller and Jerome front two could cause, with JP and Ethers on the wing and Whitehead let off the leash partnering Palacios. I can cope with Wilson at left back for now, and Shotton at RB to push forward with JP.
I'd love to feel at kick off that we'd go straight for the jugular. Respect is one thing, but looking to just not concede for the first 60 minutes goes too far beyond that.
That's why we're 'moaning', because we're not fulfilling the potential that we actually have within the squad. It's not about needing to overhaul the team, or a complete change of tactis. Playing our best team in our best system, with a bit extra freedom granted, would do most people just fine.

The thing that I never dreamt was that Peter Coates would return a few hundred million richer than when he left in shame with the will to spunk millions of it all over our football club. Once that happened the rest wasn't that difficult to imagine. We just need another incredibly favourable couple of draws in the FA Cup and we can do Wembley again even with Winnie the kit lady in the dug out!

The thing that is pissing fans off most are his very weird team selections and the fact we've spent a shit load of money on players who have no idea how to pass the ball.
Football is a simple game so they say and Swansea and Norwich are a lesson to us all at the moment!

Playing our best team in our best system, with a bit extra freedom granted, would do most people just fine. Totally agree with that. What pisses me off is all the other bollocks. For every concise and well thought out post like this there will be twice as many that just say 'You're a fucking dickhead' or something similar. Kind of defeats the point of having a messageboard really. Some people's arguments on here are just ridiculous. The last five years are not irrelevant. It may annoy people because it doesn't suit their agenda but the fact is TP has been hugely successful. At the moment he is cocking everything up but that does not make the last five years irrelevant.
