I'm a Stoke City supporter for life and according to the Tony Pulis disciples on here, Stoke City have no right, ambition or chance to ever compete with the top 6.
So I'll be rooting for Newcastle all the way over these last 15 games.
What Newcastle have done over the last 18 months and what they are doing now, might just give a bit of a reality check, to the 'we are Stoke and we have no right to compete against the top 6 brigade'!
i hope this is a dig at me, id love stoke compete with the top 6 but thing is we need to improve to compete, all i was saying is that i believe newcastle have a stronger team, Im stoke through and through, and id back them against anyone, BUT technical side of things Newcastle are stronger but still would back stoke No dig at you, I sort of agree with you and Davejohnno if that's possible! I reckon the telling differences are more to do with the way we do things off and on the pitch, right now Newcastle are far superior. I think if you put a lot of the Stoke players into the set up at Newcastle they too would flourish. Likewise I think a few of the Newcastle players would suddenly look very ordinary if they were to play under Pulis. Demba Ba is the perfect example, no way would he have scored 15 goals in 19 games for a Pulis team, we just don't support our strikers enough and we certainly don't create enough goal scoring opportunities.

With Ba and Cisse coming back from the ACN, you never know. They seem to be able to win without playing especially well, sign of a good team. But when we win without playing well people come on here ranting and raving about how shit we were despite the result and how it's purely luck that has kept us up for 4 seasons.

Skeels. That really does sum up the Pulis mindset,he always has got to be negative! With the right team picked lately and tactics we could/should be on at least 36 points now but he has to piss about hoping it works like the west brom debacle with woody on with shotton along with the woefully wank delap over palacios because of the wind ffs!!! You really couldnt make this shit up jarhead That really does some up the jarhead midset, despite the fact that the thread is clearly about how well Newcastle have done you have to turn it into a Pulis is shit thread instead........ You really couldn't make this shit up

Still, it's not as if the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea or even Villa and Everton have been up to their usual standards this season.

I honestly thought they would struggle after they lost Carroll, Barton and Nolan. How wrong can you be. Be great if they got into the champions league. Did you mean Ba great if they got into the Champions League ?

They've done well but they have ridden their luck as well. Against us they got the tactics right but if anything their approach in that game was negative (a word that people on here seem to love) as their main strategy was to take our wingers out of the game and just hit us on the break. At times they were effectively playing six at the back. Gutierrez was supposed to be on the wing but never went past the half way line as he was tasked with doubling up on Pennant. The first goal was offside, second wouldn't have happened had Shawcross not gone off injured, third was a penalty from their only attack in the second half. Overall I think they deserved to win... but lets not let our collective hatred of Pulis cloud the fact that they didn't exactly play us off the park and were far less 'positive' than they were the previous season when he beat them 4-0.
