Joey Barton's a sophisticated rhetorician, inebriated with the exuberance of his verbosity…
A big-headed tool who like te sound of his own voice

We all slag him but if TP had signed him we'd be lovin it. He is one of those players who you hate to be in the opposition line up but if he played for us he would be loved. Guarantee it! A bit like Robbie Savage

This is an early test for Mark Hughes. What does he do?
If he has any balls, he'll drop him to show Barton who is boss.
Otherwise, who will be the next manager to be on the receiving end of a snidely barton tweet.

I'm not buying that. Are you seriously telling me you wouldn't support a player in a Stoke shirt?

A bit like Robbie Savage Not by me, he wouldn't be love. Not if he came to Stoke and acted the way he's acted everywhere else in his career. I'd be embarrassed to support him. He's nothing like Robbie Savage, who was loved by many of his clubs' fans for his willingness to run all day and battle for the cause.

Remember the demonstrations outside the Vic in the early 90's?? Everyone hated Coates and slagged him off and were extremely happy when he was no longer chairman. Fastforward 15 tears and everyone was singing his name...Not me. I still remember what he did to Stoke City all those years ago, and whilst he came back and helped turn things around, it does not excuse how he was towards the club and the supporters back then. Yet we still supported the club even tho there was an onious twat in charge who behaved like a wanker

That's football fans: fickle, yes, but appreciative of someone who's obviously doing a good job for their club. In a way, the Coates we love is a reformed character. Barton is different because, to love him, you'd have to love him while he was actually being a wanker, so slim are the chances of him becoming a reformed character. I dare say some would do that if he was playing ok. Many wouldn't though. The bottom line is Barton would be bad for Stoke because he'd inevitably piss about with our team spirit, which is the best thing about our club.

What I don't understand is why does the media now portray him as some sort of intellectual. Wow he copypastas a bunch of quotes and song lyrics, give him a PhD! Most of the stuff he actually writes is full of misspelling or has poor grammar.
Shit bag of the highest order, he's not a legend or a warrior poet, he's a thick jumped up thug who thinks he spouts the "truth" but instead spout a loadabollocks. I'm so glad we didn't sign him. Not many players who I wouldn't cheer for in a stoke shirt.
Just Barton and Marlon King I can think of off the top of my head

It can't just be me that thinks that the media's daily pieces on 'what's Joey Barton saying on Twitter' a bit tedious? Oh look, he's quoting a philosopher badly, he's a reformed character and a national hero. Then again, the rising popularity of Twitter seems to have made journalists give up on actually bothering to do any real journalism. Fuck news stories, what does some dullard say about his tea and what do all these tedious saddos think about it?
Oh, and yes, Joey Barton is an utter prick.

Utter wanker Barton, this twitter stuff does nothing to disprove that! Time to grow up and act like a professional Joey, this is going to be one of these cases where in years to come, we'll be talking about what a great player Barton might have been!

Barton is a complete dick. If he was not a decent footballer he would be on benefits being constantly sacked from jobs because of his attitude, he would not toe the line and always argue with his employers to the point of stupidity even if he knew he was wrong all along.
He does not take criticism well and believes he is always in the right, he is very disrespectful to others, a scum bag of the highest order and waste of oxygen on this overpopulated planet.
