Well lets hope they managed to contact his dad. A football message board wouldn't be the best way for him or any other relative to hear the news. Might be worth removing this thread for now. RIP Liam. Agree completely. RIP awful news.

Feel so sorry for all involved, such a terrible thing to happen. I just hope that we (castle borough football club) are able to raise some money to buy some flowers and make a sizeable donation to the family. Pickles my head to think how we were laughing and joking at our football match when that was happening just across the road.
I've spoken to the son of the gent who was manager of Liam's team to pass our condolences, I'll make him aware of the post on the castle borough page and also of the intention of a donation.
Rip liam

Ps. wammy, if you get up a donation site, let us know so we can donate. I'll be honest ive never done anything of the sort before, if people think it would be a good idea and someone can point me in the right direction of a site to use I'd be more than willing to set one up. With donation sites would I need to link it directly to a charity? As I was hoping to give a cheque to the family and let them decide what they wanted to do with it

tear in my eye here.
3 kids of my own, this would devastate me, absolutely crucify me.
The only things I gain comfort from are the 13 years the family had with the young man and the fact that just before he sadly passed away he scored a goal.
RIP young man, and deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Apparently he had just scored a goal and went to celebrate in premiership football style by sliding along ground and just never got back up. Absolutely tragic. No parent should have to bury their child. Terrible news. RIP Young Liam H Quite right, RAF RIP Liam

RIP What happened do you know? Apparently he had just scored a goal and went to celebrate in premiership football style by sliding along ground and just never got back up. Absolutely tragic. I have just taken a sharp intake of breath. This is devasting for such a young lad to lose his life in this way. I cannot begin to imagine how his Grandfather and parents and all who knew this lad are feeling right now. It is so so tragic. It brings home all those silly little arguments we all have and bring to the forefront how insignificant those things are. God bless you Liam. SGS
