Can't say where I got it from and this is definitely not 100% guaranteed... but I'm told that the club passed the 8,500 pledge mark this morning. Don't carried away just yet though - wait until the newsis official! Smudge

Excellent news Smudge.Have you heard any whispers about any further experienced incomings after Taggart?.Do you think that he will be the last addition to the squad before the seasons end?.When are you meeting Tony Pulis for his interview for the oatcake?.Questions,questions!!.Keep up the good work,I always find your match reports to be both fair and honest which is more than can be said for certain sites?!!.

CS,
Interview with TP had to go onto the back-burner while I got some other stuff sorted out - will still be doing it quite shortly though.
Can't say for sure who other players may be and hate to start spurious rumours!
Cheers,
Smudge

I also heard a rumour that if we didn't reach the target by the end of the month but were sufficiently close to it, the deadline was going to be extended by 2 weeks. If this is true then it is a good move by the club and shows they are trying. Gouranga.

Only 8,500????? I think if we dont make the 10,000 Stoke fans everywhere need a good kick up the arse! Im not a st holder at the moment, and probably wont make all the games next year but ive signed up as it is an amazing scheme!!!! Bolton have 19,000 st holders, ok they are in a higher division but even Sheff Wed have 17,000!!! Encourage more people to sign up, the board are making positive moves - Tones got a new team, great players and now cheap season tickets! We want the brit rocking when Ade fires us into the promotion next season

They aren't going to release the final figure until the Ipswich game on Tuesday. Just keeping us in suspense. I reckon they have reached 8500, but we'll have to listen to that prat with the microphone getting all dramatic about it. Can't you interview HIM Smudge - try to find out why he's such a moron ???

He reminds me of when Homer became town crier.

Can't believe we are going to be told at the Ipswich game that we've failed. That would put a right damper on proceedings.
Got to have done it !!!!!!

Numbers fella the cynic eh? Where you been hiding all this time then? I just hope that we have met the target - people who haven't pledged may well be tempted to get a season ticket anyway once they see the prices. If we have a good barnstorming finish to the seaso nI reckon there'll definitely be more pople getting them! Smudge

Smudge, I didnt ask if you knew names etc just if you thought that there would be future additions or had heard from sources that there would be,time is running out.I am sure we will have fun on here banding about names.I like the idea of Steve Lomas on loan for a midfield type leader.

Not meeting the target, after all the hoopla, is about as likely as the Amazin's getting Soriano from Texas If they didn't have near 10,000 right after last Satdee's match, I'd eat my hat (if I wore one). This is entertainment after all; they have to hype it up and make the whole process "exciting". It sure worked with the more gullible on this m/b, who've had tight arseholes all week.

Be interesting if someone said that with 2 games at home they may continue rolling in.
We are a bunch of pessimists on here anyway...maybe we have reason to.
Nice to see folk responding positively, not been a bad old season so far really and if we can continue making progress next season could be in for some exciting times ahead perhaps.

I think we'll scrape 9000 by the final announcement and sell 10 when it comes to putting up the money.

Dom is that 10 or 10,000 in the last sentence of your last post? I am trying to work out if you are healthily optimistic or the worst pessimist I have ever seen! ;D

I can also see them saying. "After spending all that money on this pledge process it still doens't matter as you're 120 short-- sorry but no." I think there would be a mild riot.

sureley we have gotta do it now, just 120 short, i also agree if we meet the target and get the cheaper prices we will prob sell quite a few more season tickets than the amount of pledges made, especially if the caliber of signings in pre-season match or better last summer

|
Post by markscfc72 on Feb 27, 2004 15:27:31 GMT
i still cant believe that there is about 700 season ticket holders that have not pledged, seems a bit odd to me really, surley they want to renew at a cheaper price not the same price or more expensive??
hopefully this wont matter or perhaps there are 700 pledge forms @ the sorting offices!!

Mark, don't you think it is entirely probable that about 500 (out of 6,300) ST holders have died, moved out of the area, changed their working patterns to include weekends, be looking after family members or have aquired babysitting duties on Saturdays - or any number of things which happen to change people's circumstances?

Fornside, Don't forget to add "Couldn't be arsed" to that list of possibilities as well mate! Smudge

|
|
Post by Lakeland Potter on Feb 27, 2004 15:53:15 GMT
No, Smudge I think the "couldn't be arsed" ST holders are the few hundred others who have not responded.
I reckon that anything up to 500 ST holders don't renew each year for the reasons I gave - the club probably have the figures - or they should if they are on top of their game.

|
|
Post by markscfc72 on Feb 27, 2004 15:56:36 GMT
yeah i see what your saying fornside, i dont think the number will be quite as high as 500 though but yeah i know what you mean
|
|
|
Post by Coll40 on Feb 27, 2004 15:58:50 GMT
But the 500 who don't renew will be replaced by others who have moved into the area, changed their working patterns to exclude weekends, are no longer looking after family members, have stopped baby sitting or have come back from the dead
|
|
|
Post by Lakeland Potter on Feb 27, 2004 16:02:24 GMT
Of course they will Coll, but the 500 (or however many it is) will appear as a shortfall on the roll call of ST holders who have signed pledges.
I guess, all I am saying as that the 6,300 figure of "pledging" ST holders was never going to be achieved for the reasons I gave.
