Only to better opposition, we lost to qpr,Newcastle west brom, and drew with Aston villa, Wigan at home this was down to playing players where they shouldn't be!!! Play players in the rite positions and you will end up with the results we got against the likes of manu spurs Chelsea liverpool, Yet we lie in our highest league position, with our highest total of points at this stage of the season and looking good in Europe and the FA Cup. Yes he's played people out of position but it certainly seems to be working! We are 2 points better off from this time last year! It's the fact the teams below are aren't gaining the points from the top teams this year. That's the difference

That would suggest him signing for them and with Saha there talking they must be looking to ship out a couple of strikers. Expect Defoe on his way to the Brit shortly on SSN

Hand on heart, I think you're making excuses for excuses sake. If we end up finishing 14th from 8th then we would have lost nearly 6M in prize money. Given we're supposedly on a self sufficiency drive, I make that quite a critical importance. I've given you one example of a player who was cheap enough in today's market, would have come to Stoke City and improved us on our current set up and one that as of last week the club were looking at. He's ended up signing for a club who are notoriously tight payers. Money was no object obviously, and it certainly wasn't at the panic buying price bracket either. 2M for Liam Ridgewell is a more than fair price. He's every inch a Stoke City player aswell. It's ok though, we'll continue to "cope" with a right footed central midfielder at left back. I haven't even started on Matt Etherington and what would happen to our football should he get injured. We NEED a left back and we NEED a winger. Hard to argue with that analysis, Sedds. The season could wobble quite badly if we get an injury down the left-hand side. We're, if anything, still very slightly overstocked everywhere else - in quantity if not quality. Presumably Higgy won't be allowed out unless a LB turns up unexpectedly (Collins is an irrelevance) But the fact they were both half-way through the door must have meant we were actively looking. We might still get one or two in, I don't know. It's looking unlikely now though. My problem with Collins is simple - he's shit. My problem with Higginbotham right now is a bit more complex. He's still half fit after a serious injury. He looked about two yards off when he made his return earlier this season and he hasn't really played any football since. Even if he stays, he's not ready. If Wilson was to drop down tomorrow, we'd be looking at Upson playing there - something he's never done. DVD's of Stuart Pearce to learn how to play there and/or 2 guaranteed subs per match with Woody on the other side? If Etherington dropped down tomorrow you'd be looking at shoe-horning in Jerome, Walters or Delap. Jerome gives you workrate, pace and potentially a goal or two but no defensive stability, Walters used to give you workrate but he's absolutely knackered and Delap gives you the defensive stability but nothing going forward. We've got to remember that if we're serious about the cup competitions that the squad will be further stretched on top of what some players have already given. We could end up with 10 players or more approaching 50 games this season. They aren't robots and some will drop.

Failure to progress each transfer window means comparative regression with regard to those who do! It is not hard to spot gaps in our squad, so why we have not been more proactive in signing players to plug those gaps, with 2 cups to challenge for and a top ten finish to secure, remains baffling.
Corluka, Ridgewell and Phillips would have done me, with maybe a cheeky Maynard swoop thrown in!
Oh well, in Tone we trust.....no matter how hard it can be to do so sometimes!

Keep tellin ya self that, keeping playing players out of position and we won't be where we are long, by the 24th of feb we could be out of Europe and out of the FA cup can all change that quick all I'm saying is play players in there best positions, wood gate hates right back, so play wilko, pennant is our best winger in my eyes wins more free kicks, best crosser of the ball, and is willing to run at players to leave him out is a joke it's like barca leavin messi out

The team that Pulis picks is the one that he beleives is best suited. He see's the team training everyday and he is the one that deals with each player. I have full confidence that TP does what is best for this football club.

We're not a top 4 team so we're going to pick up bad results here and there. But then we go on to pick up results at other places.

Many on here wouldn't agree but I'd take a Fuller plus cash for Rodallega deal right now. He is being hawked around all Prem clubs by all accounts to get some cash for him now rather than lose him on a free in the summer. We know Tone likes Hugo, and I think he could offer us something different, still young too - whereas we have seen the best of Ricardo now, I am afraid.

Champions League? ;D I'd put us on par with Newcastle at least. Newcastle have been outstanding so far this season. What happens when they hit some bad form is another matter. Before the season started I would of snapped your hand off for a top ten finish. I'd still be delighted if we achieved that now.

But he won't know either way Dorsett also spent the whole of the final day of the window saying Crouch isn't going to sign, and then suddenly changed his mind as the deadline approached. He is a very unreliable source.

In the end we don't pick the team so for me it would be a good deal.
