Don't remember us playing in the ......Premiership? So we have over 8,000 - come on lads we can do it! I'm sure that Stoke will be holding a few back to encourage the foot draggers - and it makes it more exciting!!!!

I bet people at the club were hoping/expecting to have smashed through the 8500 figure by now though, as were a lot of supporters. Obviously I'll be chuffed if we get 8501 but it's not spectacular is it? And it'll leave a dent in the finances, I'm sure.

In all honesty I thought we might even have a rush on 10,000+, so to be limping home like this is a little disappointing.
Mind you, still know season-ticket holders who haven't got around to pledging... sheesh!

There's almost 900 ST holders who haven't pledged. The club must know who they are - they should ring 'em all up and ask why they haven't pledged.

Smudge, nearly 1,000 non-renewers is larger than most of us might have expected. I assumed we might lose about 500 each season because of changes in circumstances such as moving away and changed work patterns etc - maybe the club have the figures to hand for past seasons? I wonder if the figure of nearly 1,000 is accurate. Many people are notoriously bad at filling in forms and the form did require them to write the number of renewals in the family in the box. I wonder how many simply ticked the box or left it blank or absent-mindedly put just a 1 in the box forgetting about others in the family? Hopefully the club is looking at these very points - meanwhile it would be much nicer if it became academic and a further 1,000 pledges were received by Monday morning's post.

Good point PP
Hope they've also taken into account folk who don't own pens and can't remember which drawer they put the envelopes in.
Also people who can't write and don't like football.

Someone made a great point on here yesterday
The club should have waited a week, when we have TWO home games in a week

Twas me padders. Just seems crazy not to extend by just one week. We all saw how the numbers flew up after the Wigan game, so it's not unreasonable to expect a decent response from the Ipswich and Watford games.............especially when you add in the feel good factor after we thrash Crwho?

However stupid it seems i do actually like the idea of phoning them all up! Why not! We want cheaper season tickets!

I wouldn't be at all suprised if, assuming we scrape the 8500 figure, we actually go on to sell around ten thousand odd. It's amazing how many people seem to switch off as soon as the word 'pledge' is uttered, when they hear "I've just bought my season ticket, £199" I reckon they're more likely to take notice.
