His interview in the national paper talks about making mistakes and having to make tough decisions. I would rather a manager who takes risks and will respond quickly when it is clear that mistakes have been made. We have seen plenty of managers at other clubs make big mistakes and then stick to them with the inevitable detriment to their club. Mick Mills did it in our relegation season. Ditching Woodgate, Upson, Wilson and Crouch now, when it is clear they are no good to our club raises TP to even higher levels of greatness. I think you'll find that at least three out of the four players mentioned would be exceptional players for this football club if our manager had a clue how to play any sort of different brand of football than the current fair. By that i mean trying to actually keep the ball on the deck occasionally. We have by far the best squad this club has ever had yet the quality of football has dropped, i have no idea what we do between games in training its about time i went down to clayton woods i think. I am now convinced someone has hacked in to JSU's account

I've lost some faith in Pulis because of his summer signings.
The best way he can restore my faith isn't to drop them all and revert back to what we already had, it's to find a way of evolving our play so that at least some of the new players serve a purpose.
I think he can do that with Crouch who will score us goals because of the high number of goalmouth scrambles we create, and can operate as an alternative target man to Jones.

March is taking on Ianrb proportions with his never ending hyperbole in support of Pulis. I don't think he is taking the piss. I think he actually believes the shit he posts! (no offence intended March). You do exagerrate mate! Anyway, back to my initial thoughts in response to "crock of shit". The biggest crock of shit for me is that I have been away for most of this week with work and having returned home tonight, I was reading my backlog of Sentinel back pages and stumbled across an absolute gem from Pulis that said our current woes could be due to us trying to be more expansive! Now that is a crock of shit! Forget the Palacios discussions. What the fuck is Pulis talking about here. Picking two defenders who can't defend but can look a little comfortable on the ball is NOT expansive. I repeat, NOT expansive. I nearly spit my tea out when I read that "crock of shit". Do you know what Dave I haven't been away all week and I completely missed that quote - he didn't actually say that did he? He couldn't of, you're surely joking ... Blimey, I missed that myself. Has Debs been rustling up some finest West Country crack pie for his tea this week? Notice that in the same story, hints of Woodgate being available tomorrow as well. www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/Stoke-City-City-working-overtime-end-worrying/story-13941608-detail/story.htmlPulis believes the mistakes are down to individual errors and a gradual change of style.
"Maybe by trying to be a bit more expansive we have lost our shape," he said.
"But I've got to give the lads enormous credit for their attitude at 3-1 down against QPR last Saturday because they never took a step back.
"The response was brilliant, but unfortunately they didn't get what they deserved because of another poor refereeing decision when we should have got a penalty."
Jonathan Woodgate should add to Stoke's defensive options this weekend by returning to training today.
The former England defender has had a calf problem.

The former England defender has had a calf problem. It's pretty usual TP rhetoric that has reared it's head when we've conceded goals before. We all know it's a load of old bollocks but it creates the siege mentality and "scrap for every point" approach that TP thrives upon. Expect Rory out wide tomorrow! To be fair if it means us going back to basics (and keeping the personnel associated with it) then I actually agree with the sentiment even if the reasoning is complete shite! ;D

Id love to actually know what Pulis fit is? The half fit fat fucker would still do a better fucking job than the hopeless fit fuckers we have in fucking midfield now!! Christ on a bike, will he ever be fucking 'Stoke fit'! Grrrr!!! Fucking beautiful, but sadly 100% true. Infact, I'd rather see Kenwyne in goal than Delap in the starting XI this week!

According to Sky Crouch groin strain, but Delap late fitness test and also Matty Matty is so delicate he should have taken up ballet dancing instead. Then again your average dying swan is probably fitter!

Why, was Tuncay struggling after the kidnapping and murder of his brother?? March, you've played this card a number of times and I honestly think you're overplaying it now. It was horrible beyond belief what happened, but we knew all about this when we signed him. If his problems are psychological then he shouldn't even be on the bench. And as Davef has said, if the mental problems are so deep, then what can we make of Pulis' famed character assessments before spending £7m or so of Uncle Peter's money. As for spitthedog's comparison with Tunny; he looked a naturally fit lad, whereas Palacios has obviously had injury problems. Tunny never really looked a natural Pulis player whereas Palacios looks tailor-made for us. It'll still be a while before we can reach the same conclusion about Palacios as became obvious about Tunny, but the alarm bells are getting ready to ring.

Why, was Tuncay struggling after the kidnapping and murder of his brother?? For crying out loud March, give it a rest about Palacios' brother. It's completely irrelevant. Do a search on the Internet about his brother and the effect it had on him. He contemplated retirement, but is still playing. He says he uses the memory of his dead brother, Edwin, to drive him on. And as I, and several other posters have pointed out to you, if Wilson is still having problems over the tragic death of his brother, then Tony Pulis shouldn't have gone anywhere near him.

The more time goes on the more I wonder why we signed Palacios. Why pay that money for a player who is not fit. It just doesn't make any sense. Surely he must get a run today, even if its as a sub.
One things for sure Pulis would not get another bloody penny off me. He's pissed millions up the wall.

The thing about Ethers and Pennant was that their problems didn't prevent them from playing straight away, and in both cases, putting in some top performances from the start. Pulis was proved right in his judgement. Matty in particular played a massive part in keeping us up the season he arrived.

Why, was Tuncay struggling after the kidnapping and murder of his brother?? If that is the case, then our manager has made a monumental error of judgement. I thought this is a manager who does comprehensive research on the players before he brings them in???
