The potters away at sunderland 82/83, october 30th in front on 16406. Great to hear the old 'staffordshire la la la' chant in here The next game we played was a 5-2 win against west ham, that and the luton 4-4 game are the first games i have memories of as a kid at the match. Some top players at stoke in this season.

I too was there, and 300-400 was about right. Was 15 years old and with me old man.
Bracewell was a very underrated lad.

After the current side and the side from the mid-70's, this was the 3rd best Stoke team I have had the pleasure of watching over the decades.

I thought we had more than 300 their Werrington ,special was full and a few coaches more 600-700 i reckon.Although after the match the escort for the train station was taken away and we didnt realise, ended up making a dash to seaburn alone did our little four.

The next game, the 5-2 win v West Ham, Chamberlain scored an unbelievable goal when he seemed to take on their entire side before scoring. The ref in his wisdom flagged Sammy Mac offside though despite him being nowhere near play although was the rules in them days I suppose. Was one of the best 'goals' I saw at the Vic. We had another ruled out that day but still scored 5. Seem to remember Peter Hampton catching Phil 'Cossack hair spray' Parkes out near post for one and Sammy Mac getting 2 that day. Awesome performance. Was about 9 but remember it like yesterday. Was a good West Ham side.

I remember that game well ichabodcheesecake. It was a good WHU saide. Ray Stewart scored from a penno for them. mark Harrison nearly got to it but if he had done it would have broke his wrist.

Ray Stewart was one of the best pen takers ever. I remember Paul Goddard doing a ridiculous dive over Harrison second half to try and win a penalty.
