if you're going anyway, take a pair of boots with you and you may just get selected at RB or CM by HT, seems all you have to do away is attend, doesn't matter if you're crap

I might go dressed as a steward just to follow Woodgate up and down the pitch berating him in the hope of a Cantona-style kung fu kick and a year's ban.

I've already got my return train tickets and gig ticket for the Saturday night so unless I do something else in Liverpool on the Sunday I'll be at the match. Anyone got any ideas?

I'm honestly not sure if i am and I can't believe I'm typing it as I do it.
I'm sick of pissing a fortune up the wall when in my heart of hearts (as I said to Homzy in the pub before the game) I know we're likely to roll over.

Go for a nice pub lunch somewhere and chill out all afternoon instead Jamo and then see if you miss the football. If not, sack off a few more away games. It's your life and I'm pretty sure Tony Pulis doesn't care how you feel.

It's bloody hard to justify at the minute though.

i went last season was in the lower section awful view was fucking boiling hot because you are right above the catering thingy in the 'concourse' i will use that very lightly its the most unsafe concourse in this league by a mile especially when the police get pissed off and start nailing it through with wooden battons could of easily been a massive crush in there.

Have a friend up in Liverpool who I was going to go the game with. Think I'll just go for a visit and the pub. I'm not sure why anyone would consider watching us away from home a good use of their time and money. Because the pathetic, ultra negative manner in which we set out, having been in this league for four fucking years, is attrocious.

Towards the end of last season I promised myself no more away (league) games, but I ended up going to WBA and Sunderland this season.
No more now though, enough's enough. Home games fine, but away Prem games are too expensive to justify the dross being served.
I feel like I've had my passion for the away games slowly stifled out of me. I don't expect to pick up many points at the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Citeh etc but I do expect Stoke to make some sort of worthwhile contribution to proceedings at the Swanseas, Boltons and Sunderlands of this world.

Having watched us play in what is now League 1, I can say I've never gone to a game thinking "We don't have a chance here", there's always something in the back of my head that says if we turn up, even when we've had the likes of Riki Dadason playing for us, saying we could pick something up today. That was until we started playing like we do now, away from home.

It's your life and I'm pretty sure Tony Pulis doesn't care how you feel. Thing is though, mate; I'll more than likely still be there as Stoke are playing. It's bloody hard to justify at the minute though. This is where football supporting gets a bit weird. The only season I've been almost ever-present (missed 2 league and cup games in the Cotterill/Kevan/Pulis extravaganza) was largely due to me being able to have a laugh with my mates at an age (18) where I was free from any real responsibility and not having to shell out silly amounts for tickets and travel. We were shit but I was having fun. SCFC know a good 10,000 or so are now pretty much 'locked in' to supporting the team at home as long as we are in the top two divisions. In the Premier League this is more like 20,000. Fans may be fickle but they are also pretty loyal, especially the hardcore like Jamo who have continued to travel away despite a lengthly series of poor performances. Do the club care if our away numbers fall off a cliff? Probably not. And like I said I don't think Pulis cares. He'll do what he wants and that's why we've held our own the last 3 seasons - in the face scepticism and pressure to play decent football he's stuck to a remarkably rigid formula at home and away. I think the main problem this season is so much of how we play is based on hard work that when our players are tired in comparison to their counterparts (our 20 competitive games to Bolton's 11?) there will only be one outcome. This has been exemplified this season because we are playing too many matches to make our pressing/retreating into position/pressing system work. Add to this the Huth/Woodgate issue and the (albeit necessary) rotation of key players and the effect on our away form has been catastrophic. Whereas we lost 2-1 at Bolton last season in a game we could easily have won we got battered today in a performance with no redeeming features. The Europa League and all the way games to follow might be seriously fucking us up but if we played a more controlled style of football I don't think it'd be as bad. This season away from home is essentially standard procedure but with added lethargy. So Pulis has taken an already losing formula, stuck to it and taken very little account of the extra fatigue. You're a braver man than me Jamo.

I don't want to piss on your fire mate, but the last time i went to Goodison,i got a parking ticket,a ticket for not displaying my tax disc (it had slipped down the windscreen)and got hit in the face from a bottle thrown from the lovely bin dippers. We then stopped off in Salford to have a pint and got a good kicking there. Oh and surprise surprise we lost.I don't want to put you off like.

Never been to Goodison and I've been hankering after a night out in Liverpool for a while now, might have to make the excursion up there. Although I'd probably be happier going without a ticket.
