5-1, Holy shit.
At Old Trafford as well, this has to be the most demoralising, crushing defeat in their history surely?

TP will go into games against the likes of Arsenal away hoping to nick something.
I know it's frustrating but anything taken from the Emirates is a bonus and not a game he will be looking to expend a load of the teams energy on (hence the selections).
We're up the right end of the league, flying in Europe, last 16 of the League Cup with the FA Cup still to come; lots of football to be competitive in and a squad to rotate in doing so.
Little bit of perspective needed I think.
Kudos to all those who've travelled but no greatsurprise to lose at Arsenal....

Started with Shotton . Brought on Palacios early in second for Dean. By the way, My 'storm-off' goes back a long, long, way...it was a little superstition that I had when we were losing.

Arsenal are no great shakes at the moment - We have made them look good today with our negative approach.
We have spent this huge sum but still rely on Diao, a 35 year old Rory, Glen Whelan (Championship standard truth be told) Whitehead (ditto) - We'd better hope Palacios is Stoke fit soon as with Ethers looking a shadow of his old self and Pennant crocked our midfield is simply not good enough to compete in the top half of the Premier League.

Why the knives are out for Diao god only knows. He had a good game the other night and the first thing he did when he came on today, was win two tackles high up the pitch. I've sat watching the stream for the last half hour and watched Whelan and Whitehead get nowhere near the thing, and for the second goal Whelan and Whitehead were virtually sat on top of the centre backs. The only bloke in the midfield was Diao. I'm not saying he's my first choice but talk about scapegoating. This football club has done nothing but give to us supporters for the last 4 years - Premier League midtable finishes, FA Cup semi final, FA Cup final, European football and the toys come out after a 3-1 defeat away at Arsenal? We have to improve away from home but jesus christ... He had a good game against League 2 standard opposition. You can defend him all you want, the fact is after 3 years we should be way past even including the likes of Diao in the 25-man squad.

I personally didn't think the team choice was the problem.....sub yes. Changed the game This. Why bring diao on!!! So frustrating. Needed shotts and palacios on!! I don't think Diao has done anything wrong. I just think we have been carrying too many poor players today. Rory - not been his usual self Ethers - not a lot to say as he did nothing at all Whitehead - very poor Wilson - not a steady and dependable as usual the list could go on and on. I think the game mainly changed because of Van Persies quality.

At 1-1 Jones and Jerome were warming up and about to come on but unfortunately for us the arse scored and that unfortunately was that....
Not to worry, we've got enough about us to finish top 8 or 9.
Over-reactions, they're greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat...

Well, that's our annual defeat at the Emirates out of the way for another season. I thought we might hang on for a point, until RVP came on ... He did for us on his own. Arsenal above us in the table ... Shocking. But, look on the bright side, at least we're not manure fans I won't stay for the analysis; nite all ... see you for the scousers

Stoke have lost away after a very very good run. now look at the pulis hating wankers having a feild day. Forget it mate! I'm certainly not a PHW. I stand by the fact however that the team should've been different as I believe we would've got something from it! We'll never know what 'My' team would've done but we know what Tone's choice has today. See also my post about superstition. I do appreciate however, that there are many new users on this board who weren't using this board in the darker days so dont understand this thread

We have to improve away from home but jesus christ... +1 Arsenal are a counter attacking team. If we pushed up and attacked consistently then they'd tear us apart. Look at what happened when we went 2-1 down. We went forward and they broke dangerously every time. If anyone was expecting to get more than a scrappy draw from this then you really need a reality check.

I don't know why we don't just mark down a list of games at the start of the season where we are not going to make an effort to win and then hand over 3 points to all of those sides.

8th in the Premier League, top of our Europa League group and on Wednesday we play Liverpool for a place in the League Cup quarter-finals.
I have one hope, and that's any cunt who wants to actually fuck off because they've had enough, does so and never comes to see us play as you're not a Stoke City supporter.

One player changed it for what is a non too exciting Arsenal.
Summed up as another typical stale Stoke away day. If that is the sort of performance that happens against Bolton then I really would be critical.
