if northern ireland couldn't qualify for a major tournament when george best played for them, what makes him think they can do so now?they only one i can think of is spain 82,with a shit hot norman whiteside. I think you should check your facts. Whiteside never played in the 82 qualifiers and NI also qualified in 86. Was in no way down to Whiteside as an individual either. Were a great group of players. I take it by your comments you saw neither tournament. NI also won the last of the home nations under Bingham.

I remember Sanchez making comments about Stoke when we played wycombe once, always thought he was a tosser after that, when asked about what he had said it always stuck in my mind as his reply was "well I'm never gonna rush to manage Stoke". So once a wanker always a wanker

So once a wanker always a wanker Also said that Stoke were the best team Wycombe played against in his time there. A sore loser and a bit full of his own importance but some do let little comments get to them a bit.

Correct on all counts When Big Norman RETURNED from '82 WC finals in Spain - he had played a grand total of 7 professional games - 5 of them at the finals Our first eleven then were Jennings - Arsenal Jimmy Nicholl - Man Utd Mal Donaghy - Chelsea Chris Nichol - Aston Villa John O'Neill - Leicester City David McCreey - Man Utd Sammy McIlroy - Man Utd Martin O'Neil - Notts Forest Norman Whiteside - Man Utd Gerry Armstrong - Spurs Billy Hamilton - Burnley Only one player (Hamilton) playing outside the top flight and lots of european experience there too In contrast todays team has One player in a top six team, three more in mid to low premiership and the majority playing in the Championship or scottish league On the other issue of players choosing to play for the Republic, we need a manager that would convince players to 'pledge' for NI and Nigel Worthington has shown himself not to be able to inspire that confidence - we could have had Darren Gibson and Marc Wilson bolstering our midfield...... (european experience too) :-) Neither of whom are seemingly fancied by Trapitoni I think Lawrie could inspire that sort of confidence!!

The Womble shagging turd wants to keep his mouth shut. NI aint got no chance with the pillocks they got playing for them, those mistakes wouldn't grace a Lads and Dads match on Birchall let alone an International arena, Sadly though Wortho will probably have to take the ulitmate blame though, it always happens, no disgrace Nidge just don't go the Vale.
