I was writing that when the news broke so I didn't realise. The point remains the same though. People actually moanuing about the prospect of signing one of the worlds hottest prospects on loan! There would be people moaning if we bought messi for one reason or another. I think people sometimes forget where we've come from! I remember when signing people like tony dorigo would be exciting! Look at us now!

How come then, teams in the last couple of years have purchased players and then loaned them out to the club they purchased them from?

How come then, teams in the last couple of years have purchased players and then loaned them out to the club they purchased them from? its because we're in the same league. all other cases have been between clubs in different divisions.

How come then, teams in the last couple of years have purchased players and then loaned them out to the club they purchased them from? If the buying club is from the premier league then they can't loan it out to another premier league club.

Just been on Talk Sport too!!! Can see TP's logic, get him on loan until Jan and by then we'll have Rikky and Mama fully fit. Saving £££ on a permanent transfer. cant beleive sime numpties not too keen on it, hes tailor made for stoke even at a young age, he'll be up for proving he can cut it in the prem which will only benefit us. The best thing is is if me enjoys his stay then next season we hold the aces if they send him out on loan again, or say hes down the pecking order at chelsea and they decide to cash in, id bet my last pound it'd be us buying him.... Would be a great signing, get it done!

We can't get it done can we, as no Premier League club can loan a player to another Premier League club within the same transfer window.

What about Adabyore to Spurs? (I know wrong spelling) Man City haven't only just signed Adebayor though have they ? A Prem club can loan a player to another Prem club but it seems there's a rule forbidding a purchase then loan out in the same window between Prem clubs

If Stoke have wasted their time enquiring about a player they have zero chance of getting because of Premier League rules, then someone at the club needs a serious bullet up their backsides.
And if that is the case, then it suggests that things are getting a little bit desperate.
Hopefully it'll just be a case of lazy journalism.

If things have got this far because people didn't bother to look at the rules it's just beyond amateurish.
