I wonder if he will be as good as his old man or will he have miles of potential and talent but fall just short like Walcot

Walcott is still young.
Was thrown in the England set-up a World Cup early.

12 million quid for potential !!!! He won't get anywhere near the 1st team so they'll probably loan him back

You'd be pissed off if you were a Gunners fan; you've been hearing about 'potential' and 'next year' for years, and then you sign a young kid with potential who may be good next year or in a few years to come. ;D

Thats Wenger all over. Likes to nurture his young talent doesn't he, shame it never comes to anything useful like trophies for instance!!!

He's eighteen next Monday so he'll be able to go down to the pub* to celebrate.
*Assuming the pub hasn't already been burnt down.

Great signing, he's a real talent from what I've seen but certainly not ready for a top 4 side, yet. I can see him being the next Walcott at Arsenal though, he needs to play as much as possible.

£15 million quid for a young kid who's played in league 1 is a joke. Only serves to highlight how overpriced English talent is in the transfer market.

I can't see many Arsenal fans nursing a hard-on for this signing. By the time he plays for them most of the fans will have forgotten who he is.

A really crazy piece of business from the Arse and a massive risk. It's a hell of a step up from League one and I doubt we will see much of him next season. They are crying out for a CB and keeper that will go straight into the 1st team but it appears Arsehole is still happy to buy potential for the future while his first team needs to be strengthened. Great for anyone like me who hates them with a vengeance, as without some major spending very soon they won't be in the champions league next season.

From the limited clips I've seen of him, he does look a hell of a lot better than Walcott for the simple reason that he looks like a footballer.
But there's no winners in this transfer.
He'll either:
A) rot in their reserves and his talent will go to waste B) have his talent ruined by being thrown into the team before he's ready and getting maligned by Arsenal's wankerish fans C) do really well and help the most despicable football club in the history of the world win a trophy.
Meanwhile the ludicrously high transfer fee artificially inflates that of all other young English players, so life is made more difficult for medium-sized clubs across the country.
This transfer is bad all round.

Sorry but do not agree with you, Chambo for me still was "ONE" of the most exciting players I saw as a Stoke fan, he had flair, pace, & tricks, plus was the only Stoke player to play for England from a Stoke team that I can remember (may be others but can not bring them to mind) and I am 45...plus we nicked him from the Vale which made it even better. Nah Loved him as he was my hero at the time. ;D ;D

Why cant the stupid Arsers see that they dont need another nippy, nimble, skillful midfielder when theyve got dodgy keepers, no centre forwards apart from RVP and are crying out for a Huth type wall. Glad the idiots never learn

When we bought Chambo from the Vale we also bought his brother Neville. He was a different kettle of fish altogether - a big strong lad who could hold the ball up but, I hope it's not too controversial to say this, a shit prime minister.

Conversely, Clement Attlee (whom we bought for a reconditioned lawn mower, two dozen eggs and a large catering tin of Spam from Huddersfield Town in Summer 1945) was a decent Prime Minister in those immediate post war years, but slightly underwhelming as the midfield pocket battleship we thought we had acquired.

Pulis would never have signed an Attlee, he doesn't do Attlees apparently, too many silky skills as a negotiator. Pulis is more for your David Lloyd George type, hard and direct. Mind you was a bit of a bugger for the tail, old Lloyd George, but I reckon he would have turned a blind eye to that like he did with Fuller.

15 Million quid Southampton must be rubbing there hands together! Just talking to a mate of mine, A Soton fan. He is absolutely stunned at the price. Says he has potential but isn't even their best player. As for Walcott- some seem to keep making excuses for him re his age etc. Soton certainly got the best out of that deal as well.
