Bit of a black and white response. Thousands of Stoke fans have never seen us win a trophy, we have seen us float around the prem for a few seasons, but that compares nothing to the feeling i got at Wembley...which was unique of the highest order. Winning a European cup is a once in a lifetime experience...being last on MOTD every week and mid-table security is great, but to win a major trophy in my lifetime is the ultimate feeling that your club has done something special. The feeling Fulham fans had in their Europa campaign was incredible, just speak to them about it...just think back to wembley and the feeling we had then...winning trophys is what football fans dream of...are we ever going to be a top 4 club in our lifetime with the money being thrown about? Probably not...so why not enjoy a European trophy. Which is undoubtadly doable. Its alright people saying "stupid question", but i'd like to see some more reasoning. I'm just putting it out there, show some love. Try the Portsmouth and Birmingham boards and see if they would swap their trophies to be back in the big league. I have a feeling most would. Oh yehh I forgot they won a European trophy. Carling Cup admittadly is a bit of a farce of a tournament these days, and to be fair i'm pretty sure Portsmouth fans will remember winning the FA Cup alot more than their premier league campaign.

Don't wish to piss on your fire but the UEFA is ALSO a bit of a joke competition these days We'd all love to get to Bucharest, that goes without saying, but i wouldn't swap a win for premier survival. It's too easy to drop and not come back again. Birmingham fans can always boast about winnign a trophy but the standard reply is "Yeah but you got fucking relegated ;D " The prem is where it's at and i wouldn't waste a second considering it.

...what would you prefer? For me, i would genuinly prefer to win Europe. Not only because it would be an unforgettable memory if Bucharest was filled with happy stokies come 9th May, but it also does so much for the city. Stoke would well and truly be on the map, it would be great for a town that has suffered for too long. Maybe we can achieve both? ;D And you know, if we bring in some of the players we are linked with such as Palacios and Bentdner, then why cant we win it?! Nurse! ;D

Winning any cup would be completely negated by relegation. Long-term it would be a disaster and we'd lose a fair old chunk of our best players and have to start again.
We're trying to build something here.
