Sadly, that is the closest we will see Joey Barton to holding a Stoke shirt.
We need to grow some and take a risk sometimes.

If Joey Barton ever wears a Stoke jersey it will be one of the darkest days in our recent history. He is fucking scum and even the taught of him playing for us is enough to make me sick.

One word "redemption", you must believe in that, you are Irish right ?! Oh, and he would be our best midfield signing since Micky Thomas, nailed on to be a Potteries folk hero.

I think Joey Barton would be a more stable individual that didn't do stupid things if he wasn't given so much abuse on the pitch. Every game you watch, the guy gets fouled almost every time he is on the ball etc etc. I'm not saying he's a 'top bloke' but i think the players he plays against don't help his situation. I'd like to see him at stoke, great player, imo one of the best CM's in the premiership. He is just what we need. Hear Hear!!! IF - (and that's a very big IF) he's still on the market, we should chuck our hat in the ring for him.....with the right influence, he could be great for us!! ;D

Almost as bad as the day we signed Mama! Drug dealers at our beloved club!?! Anyone can make a mistake, especially with drink and drugs if they grow up in the wrong area but Barton is a whole different animal. Stubbing cigars out on a youth team players eye, beating the shit out of a fellow team mate, assault on the streets are just some of the "incidents" involving this piece of shit. He isn't a bad player but this image of him as a reformed character seems to have made people wildly overrate his abilities and links with Manure or the Arse are laughable as he has anywhere near the ability to play for them. I doubt TP would sign him and hope we steer clear of this waste of life.

But I personally know someone who's 'been there, done that' (assault, drugs etc) and has dragged himself up by his own bootlaces and cleaned up his act.......and as I said before 'with the right influence' I think he could work. People DO change - even bad b*stards In saying that - there are better options, I admit

You rightly stated there are plenty of better options out there and I cannot understand why we aren't in for Reo-Coker, who would fit into our system perfectly.

I do know we have enquired about Barton and he's a name on TPs list. How far that enquiry has gone I've no idea..... Don’t be surprised if he comes.......
