another young talent that we will manage to fuck up, see arismendi, demar phillips for examples Demar Phillips and young talent should never used in the same sentence.

Hehe. He played for Dandy Town. I heard he impressed against Beezer City, but Beano United knocked a few past him.

There is a cynical side to me that wonders which one of TP's old buddies has a Coerver Coaching franchise. ???

Who will be captain I wonder?
Connor was captain at Liverpool for about 4 years. I'd of thought they'd go with his experience.
Lucas doesn't shout enough for me, but he is the only Stokie. I want him to have it.

;D Time for a little digging I think.
When I read the article from the Stoke site, it came across to me that he was just saying TP's name as an add on. Could something like this be done with minimal insight from TP? I suspect not.
Do You know when we play Bristol Rovers this week?

Coerver Coaching is big news, especially in the States, he was one of the originators of total football in Holland back in the day - passed away a few years back sadly. Hardly fits with Tone's image though!!!
Dandy Town are one of the top sides in Bermuda, along with North Village (Goater's team) and PHC (Lightbourne's lot - stands for Pembroke Hamilton Club, two of the parishes there).
Spoke to my mate, an ex-Bermuda player I used to play with who now coaches our old team, about Dale Eve. He says he has the height and athletic stature to make a good keeper but is still really raw. Well, I guess he would be at 16. The standard over there is a bit hit n miss, so he can now play football full-time with and against better players to see if he has got what it takes. As Bermudians get UK passports, he is not deemed a foreign player.

I want him to have it. I agree but he leads by example by getting on the ball and getting stuck in! Still would like him be more vocal though! I think all of stoke would especially as he's got great potential! You dont always have to shout look after gerrard, by example!

www.hagmayr-sport.com/en/news/detail/1546Another link for the Austrian 'keeper from I presume his agent website? Interesting that they mention he'll be third choice 'keeper for us. He's either been lied to or something is a foot!??? Mark/anyone that knows-would he be a first or second year?

Whoever it is describing him as third choice cant count or is asssuming Nashy will go next year. Even then I would think the likelyhood of an 18 year old who is unlikely to break six foot being a third choice keeper for Tone would rank as somewhere less than slim.

Yeah it does, doesn't it. Seems odd then that we've only offered him 2 years if he's a first year? It indicates no guaranteed pro-deal at the end?
Yeah, I just think his agents are being hopeful!

Huge sign that we are serious about the academy and Pulis a key player in introducing Coerver.. But is he? Or is just words? EDIT-read the Sentinel article on the coaching thing and again it just seems like words to give TP a bit of credit as a bit of an after thought. Dave Wright implemented it and then TP just said yeah crack on, sounds like what happened going off the actual quotes. A bit like the Sentinel article about them pair bring through local youngsters. In the U-18's out of 23 players, 3 are local lads! What they say and what is happening are two different things!

He mentioned months ago about some developments for the future of the academy and if he did fundamentally disagree we'd know about it I'm sure...

Have a gander at my edit! It just sounds to me from reading the actual quotes that it was Dave Wright's idea and TP just signed off on it. Nowt ground breaking or a shift from TP. Now if was for the first team then I might agree!
He can still fundamentally disagree and allow it, look at the academy itself! He fundamentally disagrees with it but allows it (once he realised shutting it down wasn't an option).

Leopards and Pulis's dont change their spots - I think he had no choice but to say "yes boss" when Coates decided we need to push the academy harder - especially with this aim to be self sufficient. Lads that are not good enough for us from the academy can be sold out to smaller clubs and at least have some income coming in from them - may be a small amount but will help to finance a part of the academy at least.
