I know a few follow their fortunes.
Manager Gregg Clowes has left to take up the position at Stafford Rangers who have just been relegated from the Blue Square North to the Evo Stick level.
It appears most of the Newcastle players will be going with him. The managers job at Newcastle will be taken on by former Stoke Youth team prospect Dave Sutton along with long serving Newcastle man John Diskin.
Dave is a top bloke and I wish him well.

It's quite appropriate the Stafford find themselves in the Evostik League seeing as Evostik has been manufactured in the town for the last 50 years Seriosly, let's hope they soon bounce back to their former glories.

I hope they keep going down if they are ripping apart a good team in Castle Town.

Its in Non League Paper today that Greg Clowes has basically invited all the Newcastle Town players to join him at Stafford.

If Disco and Sutt get results then all's well...if not I'm sure a Manager of stature will bring a few players with him.
Welcome to the wonderfully grubby game called footie.
Goarrrrrrn The Castle!

Went to see them today at Sheffield FC today, won 2-0 Very strong team, too good for that division though its a very strong league this year. 9 points clear. Quite a decent following too, I'd say over 100 made the trip to Sheffield. Marvin Robinson featured for Stafford......remember him. Played 3 times for us, scored on his debut then broke his leg.

Bloody hell, he's a 'blast from the past'. Looked really good for us until that broken leg. Didn't he play with a 'tag' whilst with us?

My old man is a season ticket holder and I try to go and watch about four or five home matches a season with him. The current manager Neil Kitching (since May 2014) has got them playing much better football than they have for 4 or 5 years, plus he seems very astute at getting good loans off higher leaugue clubs. They also got a grant this year to re-do the pitch, so Marston Road is not only looking smarter than in a long while, but it plays better too; check out for the grim pitch a couple of years ago during a mass brawl with Frickley. It is not done and dusted yet, but if they can keep winning and hold off the likes of Coalville, they should get promoted this year.

Stafford have all the ammunition to win that division, they are big team and very physical, good at bullying the officials into decisions, getting opposition players booked etc, but have 2/3 skilled players to back it up. The players they have have mostly all played at a higher level and know what it takes to get out of those leagues.

Whilst the Potters were playing Doncaster I thought I'd visit Stafford Rangers on Saturday.
Twas a good game & glad to hear via Twitter that Wayne Daniel was okay despite being clattered by a Leek Town player in injury time.

Sutt was a great player and probably unlucky not to make it as a Pro, seem to recall Gregg Clowes managed Stafford Rangers a few years ago?

The question is, what's happened to Newcastle Town this year? Not far above the relegation places now With Robin Van Der Laan as Lodgeys assistant I would have expected a much higher placing, certainly with the youth at their disposal.

The question is, what's happened to Newcastle Town this year? Not far above the relegation places now This happens all of the time at this level. Newcastle looked great last year, but things change quickly. The turn around in playing staff is incredible. Players often leave at very short notice if they get offered a few quid more for playing elsewhere. Kidsgrove and Market Drayton looked dead and buried this time last year and they are both having very good seasons this year.

I watched Dover a few years ago and close season you could see 20+ players change place in a 3 month period.

Who was the cowardly twat that boots the keeper in the background and then walks off and stands next to the assistant pretending that he is an innocent little angel? Can't remember off the top of my head, will ask my old man next time I see him. I agree - disgraceful behaviour. I was at that match and I never even noticed that incident until I was watching the Youtube footage weeks later - must have been looking at what was going on in the foreground. Presumably so were all the officials too as he was never booked.
