Bring on Santa Coloma, ground capacity 1800 (I'm googling all of them) Not according to their own website - says 900 on there!

It just be me that is not happy with this mickey mouse league thing.Playing a load of no marks on a Thursday night, making Sunday prem. games a regular thing. I don`t think we have a squad big enough for this.Unless TP plays reserves.

Anyone know who won the Coppa Italia between Palermo and AC Milan? AC are in the Champions League next season and i'm not sure if Palermo had to win or if they automatically qualify via being runners up? Be nice to pay the Mafia a visit down in Sicily!

I presume that when we play in Europe, we'd have to widen the pitch to the standard UEFA size. It's required of teams who play in the Champions' League and it seems logical that it'd apply to the Europa League as well.
The question is, would we be allowed to widen the pitch for Europe, but shrink it again for league games?

i think the time has come for a wider pitch. it does not make that much of a difference to rory and the noise must make it that much smaller for the oppostion.
i am in the camp that although europe is brilliant for the city and club, the league is priority not just for the financial but the experience and by that i mean sunday games etc. i am worried that it will bring down our league form

Our league form probably would suffer with our current squad, so we'd need to strengthen a fair bit to be able to rest enough players that we could still have enough quality for the "lesser" teams!
Now that would be progress. ;D
But we're counting chickens already - we've got at least one and probably two qualifying rounds to even reach the group stage...

Afraid so.
To host a 3rd Qualifying Round game a stadium must be Category 3 or 4
Category three
Stadiums must be all-seated and have a minimum capacity of 4,500; The playing surface dimensions must be 105 metres in length and 68 metres in width; Stadiums must have CCTV both inside and outside and a security control room; Must provide seating for at least 750 VIPs and 200 visiting team VIPs; The floodlights must light the pitch to an illuminance of at least 1200-1400 lux towards fixed cameras and 800-1000 lux towards mobile cameras; There must be at least two TV studios within the stadium with dimensions of 5x5x2.3 metres; In case of power failure, independent back-up power supply to provide equivalent light intensity without interruption; Minimum of 150 VIP secured parking and 400 buses in the vicinity of the stadium; No standing spectators allowed.
If we make it to the Group Stages it has to be Category 4
Category four
Stadiums must be all-seated and have a minimum capacity of 8,000; The playing surface dimensions must be 105 metres in length and 68 metres in width and entirely fence-free; The playing surface must either be natural turf or FIFA-licensed artificial turf; The substitute benches must be covered, seat at least 13 people and positioned at least 5m from the touchline; The dressing rooms must seat at least 25 people; There should also be a separate delegate's room, doping control station, and first aid room; Stadiums must have CCTV both inside and outside and a security control room; Must provide seating for at least 1,500 VIPs, 200 visiting team VIPs, and 400 square metres of a hospitality area; The floodlights must light the pitch to an illuminance of at least 1400 lux towards fixed cameras and 1000 lux towards mobile cameras; There must be at least three TV studios within the stadium with dimensions of 5x5x2.3 metres; In case of power failure, independent back-up power supply to provide equivalent light intensity without interruption; Minimum of 150 VIP secured parking; No standing spectators allowed.

Just send out Abdy with the tape measure. If he comes back and says the pitch is big enough, who is going to argue with him?

PenkhullStokie : I dont know how you have Villa in your list, they havn't got a chance of getting into the Europa .. It says, they are from the 10/11 campaign. It's just to get an idea of teams we'd face in our qualification rounds.

I remember from a few years back Bolton used to make their pitch bigger for Europe and then shrink it back down again for the league. Hopefully we'll do that because I don't see the need to lengthen the pitch.
