I must admit, I'm feeling slightly twitchy.

It was encouraging how well Faye played when he came on for Huth on Sunday. He put in some crucial interventions and dominated in the air. Losing Huth would be a massive blow though, I can't think of any player I'd be more gutted to lose going into this game at the moment. Hopefully he'll pass fit.

No doubt in his ability after his cameo against Arse but I'm not convinced he's got the legs for 90 minutes

Did a good job there Sunday I thought.
Not ideal but given that the alternative is playing Danninho in his "natural position" I think Abdy's the only realistic option if Huth can't make it.

It was a great result on Sunday, but why we played a full strength team I'll never know. This could be one injury too many. We could essentially be taking on City without our two best players.

Average?????
Everything he needed to do, he did.
I must admit I'm very worried at the thought of losing Huth but Abdy (as we've seen many times before) can be as important as anyone if required.
Have faith in the Lord should he be required.....

If Faye plays I can see Whitehead being his legs, so to speak, doing a lot of chasing down around the box while Faye sweeps up. This wil make us deeper but if we get the balls out of the box as accurately to KJ as we have been, with Pennant, Walters and Whelan racing up to support him, we'll still be a massive threat to Man City

It would be a huge blow to lose Huth for the final. That said, Abdy did an excellent job when he came on against Arsenal, making some critical tackles, blocks and was superb in the air. We are very much a squad that is 'as one' and no-one can match our spirit at the moment. We are a match for ANYONE at this particular time and our current form is outstanding. More than that, our competative edge is probably higher than any club in the country and whoever goes out there on Saturday will put it all on the line for this club. Like everyone else, I'm desperate for Huth to play but, if needs be, I'm confident Abdy will be the rock that we know he CAN be in that final and possibly have his finest hour. At the moment, I trust each and every one of our squad to go out there and give his all. I can't wait.
BTW: ANYONE who thought Abdy was 'average' on Sunday really does need a trip to Specsavers.

Huth is the man we need but we may have to play him. I believe he can do a job for us but he is a bit slow now and will have to adapt his game so as that isn't exposed. Also I think he would struggle marking Tevez and I think Tevez would take advantage of that. My worry is that he may give away a penalty as Tevez would be working on getting in the box as soon as he could.
On the plus side he is solid in the air and is very strong physically. He still has something to offer but I only wish he could rediscover his form from our first term in the prem.

Abdy will have to step up. What a send-off it'd be for him at Stoke as well. I was surprised how well he responded on Sunday. Losing Huthy would be verging on disastrous though Or we could recall Sonko or Davies? And can't Arismendi play centre-half

You can only play that type of 'beautiful football' if the opposition allow you to jonso. We didn't. The best I can say for Abdy on Sunday is that nothing changed once Huth went off and that's a pretty big compliment to Abdy.

I thought Faye stepped up to the plate and did his job superbly. As a a matter of fact, before he came on, I was wondering who we could rely on to replace any of our two centre backs if one got injured. Having watched him against Arse, he allayed most of my fears. My only worry about the big man is if he can last a possible two hours on the Wembley turf.

Abdy is a great player! Especially our first season in the prem i thought he was outstanding and brought ryan on no end! HOWEVER, he was shank for much of last season and despite coming on and playing well against arsenal theres no way hes match fit.
Playing saturday without Huth is unthinkable!!! hes an absolute cert to score if he plays. anytime goal scorer 11/2 like the semi final - yes please.

A 40-minute cameo is one thing, but 90+ at Wembley in front of 90,000 in the biggest game of his life is a real ask when you're so short of match fitness, especially with , potentially, people like Tevez and Silva moving you around. I suppose adrenaline will see him through for most of it, but you'd think he'd really tire late on.

It's written in the stars that a Stoke lad who has NEVER scored for Stoke will get the winner. Wilco has come mighty close a couple of times recently. If only dreams came true, BUT they DO sometimes don't they?
Agree ref the concerns about Adby over 90 minutes (possibly longer) and it HAS to be a concern. There is a giant mural of Abdy on the front of the Britannia Stadium alongside Sir Stan. A huge character who will NOT let anyone down. I agree FM, what a way for the big man to go out! I understand/agree with the concerns but, this season, I've learned to believe that ANYTHING is possible.

Faye at his best is a very capable and accomplished premiership defender. But at his worst he would struggle to get in Fegg Hays sunday team.

Faye is the sort of player that thrives in these sort of games. Ideally, he'll be on the bench but I don't think it's a terrible replacement. My only concern is, if it goes to extra time, would he be able to last? Probably not, but I think he'll be fine if he has to play. At the end of the day, Man City are favourites and even with Huth playing they'll probably beat us on the big stage, so just enjoy it... p.s. I won't enjoy one minute, I'm shitting myself already.

He did play well for 40 minutes or so when he came on. What worries me though is with Wembley being a much bigger pitch and also that Man Shity will play with a lot more width than the Arse did then Abdy may struggle. Hope im wrong though and fingers crossed for Huthy!
