I am not sure who from the top flight or for that matter around the globe I would get bu I would certainly gamble on Parry from Baaardiff and Haynes from Dipshit.

TP strikes me as the kind of man who orders steak and chips in chinese restaurants, so I cannot see that happening. Nail on head.

as far as i can see there are 4 pools of players who we should look at.
1. relegated but too good for championship 2. out of favour established premiership players 3. too good for their club, championship players 4. foreign imports.
(1)relegated
bullard, dempsey, niemi, konchesky, mcbride, murphy, davies, healy(fulham) cahill, davies, gardner, taylor,(bolton) villa, ghaly, barnes, pearson and if reading go down - hahnemann, bikey, sonko, duberry, convey, doyle, kitson
(2)
ironically what has made the premiership a disgrace recently will probably work in our favour.
there are plenty of players who have premiership experience who are now surplus to requirements/seen as getting on a bit and would welcome a move to a newly promoted club. off the top of my head - malbranque, nash, riggott, jason roberts, rochenback, mido, carr, duff, ameobi, kaboul, didier zakora, harewood, maloney, mendes, nugent - bound to be a bit of a battle over the signature of some of these, but still worth a punt.
(3) assuming these dont go up - henderson, shittu, moses, halmosi, campbell - having written that list ive got to say last resorts im afraid, no-one really stands out this year
(4) hit and miss, stoke dont have the authority as a club to go after the real foreign prospects and not enough money to risk on good foreign based players who may not suit the premiership. so if we do look at the foreign leagues, id hope we'd go cheap and young.
anyway still 9 points to go after yet, but, against our better judgement, it is a bit brilliant to be thinking about bringing some of these boys to the brit.

Top avatar prong, what a quality comedy! Only just noticed that! Effing SUPERB prog, and without doubt my fave comedy... was only watching it last night as a matter of fact! ;D Will need to be buying a new boxed set soon as mine will be worn out...... Quality theme tune as well - best on the box. "Small World" by Roddy Frame, who I'm told is the gadger who used to front Aztec Camera... Download it now, chaps!

would be really worried if we signed savage or quashie. quashie was questionable when it was discussed in january , he's just not at prem standard anymore. as for savage, he's only ever done a good job when he's got creative players around him and tbh there are some out of favour players who can do a similar job, pose a threat going forward and are less likely to bring the club into disrepute.
sibierski could be an option tho, if only because he can fit into 3 or maybe 4 positions and always looks like doing something.

I don't think Earnshaw is strong enough for the Premiership. The warchest would be very aptly named - we would need a set of players ready to go to war every week.

Going off thread a bit but if West Brom failed to get promoted I'd make some very public bidding for some of their players just to piss all those carpet loving shit sucking Baggies ;D

Don't buy the Danny Haynes call personally.
He had a cracking first half down at Ipswich and scored a good goal but at the Brit he was absolutely dire and I don't recall seeing him having too many stormers. He definately isn't a Pulis player.
Equally, others in the Championship are undoubtedly better. Ledley and Parry at Baardiff for starters, Gera at West Brom (available on a free by all accounts) and Sinclair looked pretty good for Palace.
Above all of those though, one player to keep an eye on would be Songo of Wednesday, on loan from Portsmouth. I was really impressed with him, and I know that certain members of our management team were too.
