I played TPGC yesterday and it is in excellent condition, the fairways are V soft underfoot, and you would be very unlucky to get a bad lie. Because of the lack of rain some areas have been slit to make the most of any rain or dew we do have (a local rule is in force to place the ball, in these areas). The big advantage is that the ball runs for miles (if you hit the fairway). Because of the irrigation, the greens will take a high ball, but are as fast as we have come to expect. All in all it is a delight to play. Well done FF and the other green staff.

Thanks Phil, after a very hard winter i think we're getting there now. The slits in the fairways are actually aeration work we did in the winter to try and dry the fairways out. Its sods law that we had a dry april and these all cracked open. We spent all winter trying to dry the course out, and now we're trying to keep it wet. Greenkeeping can be an interesting job at times!

If any of you are considering taking part, then join up now, the course is in great condition and if you enjoy your golf at any standard you will surely have a most enjoyable day.

Whats the score with Gordon?

Will there be a nearest pin or longest drive competion this year? If so I think the 4th is ideal for nearest pin as it's only about 95 yards and anyone can fluke it over that distance.

Have a few of the tee-times been taken off the original post?

The tee times have been changed to 10 mins from 9 losing the odd one but if we have a late rush it can be put back.
If it stays the same it could be possible that we can dine more or less together
Yes we are having NTP and long drive as well as the "V" on the 8th. Like last year they will be split according to handicap so as to give more golfers a chance.
Unfortunately Gordon is otherwise engaged he sends his apologies and has said he will try his best for next year.
You will have to make do with JG Harry B and Phil D. plus Kevin Lewis, Phil Heath and John Rugerro.

Me and my mate Jonty Chidlow are up for playing, we played the first year and finished up with a respectable 28 points each. I play off 14.
1:39 would suit us fine.
Jont is a member at TP... does he pay a reduced fee as he isnt eligible to pay green fees ?
cheers
can you pm me with details
Rob.

Amazing response today (Tues, have had to go back to 9 mins), 10 places left but I have had 7 possible requests for times so only 3 to go in the existing set up.
I can add further times, but be quick, I must have a cut off soon, to finalize times with the club and get cards done.

John Ruggiero wanting to know .......... is there a bacon butty time ? do we need shirt and tie for after ? Looking forward to a good day ! JR. Bacon butties are given for a donation between the 10th green and 11th tee by my good lady wife and my mum. No tie needed for the presentation but please be aware of the clubs strict dress code. I hope the SCOBA players can all stay for a pint or two with the fans. Lets hope we all have a fantastic day and raise a good amount for the hospice. Please be aware that we are playing at Trentham Park Golf Club and not Trentham Golf Club. Loads make the mistake of turning up at 'Big' Trentham no matter what the event. If you need directions please PM me or Phil 'theoldgit'. Food is fantastic in the club house if you fancy lunch and as with all golf clubs the prices are really really reasonable. Club sandwich is my choice for lunch on Friday.

Me and Lightwood and most of our playing partners are thinking of getting there before 12 and getting a sandwich and then watching all the Stoke old boys tee off, what about the rest of you?
