this is really confusing me.
if it contains seeds (can plant one and will grow more) its a fruit if it doesnt have seeds its a vegetable
Peas - they are only veg out of their pods, peas in their pods is a fruit
Banana - they have seeds so they are a fruit... but the seeds dont do anything if you plant the banana itself so it can also be classed as veg.
Strawberries - They have their seeds on the outside so they cant be classed as fruit, also the seeds are shit because strawberry plants clone themselves to new plants.
to name a few off top of my head
So is there any point of having the groups fruit n veg if its all to cock anyway?

fruit = a plant's seed pod
vegetable = edible parts of a plant (leaves, stems, roots or flowers).
Peas and beans are actually fruit!

And that has seeds, so do peppers ??? fruit n veg is just a posh name for female n male of edible bits if it has seeds it female (Fruit) if it doesnt its male (Veg) peppers n butternut squash are a fruits BUT there is 2 groupings scientific (male n female) and culinary if its sweet its fruit, if it isnt its veg hate simple things that go too complicated for no apparent reason ;D

" hate simple things that go too complicated for no apparent reason ;D " Gets even more complex when you throw mushrooms into the pan equation. Are they fruit, vegetable or meat?

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting one in a fruit salad.

To make things even more fun, the potato is related to the tomato and the aubergine as well as deadly nightshade.

So then tomato sauce should be called tomato jam?
Yer know, since tomatoes are fruits like strawberries. Or are strawberries fruits? Since they have stupid seeds that don't do anything cool. I know my oranges. They're fruits fo' sho'. And you can have orange jam, but you can't have orange sauce.
This thread is too confusing and I don't much like it.
I'm going home.

So then tomato sauce should be called tomato jam? depends on if its made with the outside of tomato or the insides if its outsides (peal) it could also be a marmalade and shell, all grapes arnt seedless, they just have unformed seeds. they are soft instead of having their hard coating google makes me look smart
