I was fuming how I was kept back 30 minutes after the end of the game because of the 'ICF' and us Stokies apparently scrapping this made me miss my train where I had to fork out £63.50 to get home! I hope these hooligans are caught and if their coming up the evening before watch yourself round Stoke a cockney accent! I spent over £190 last weekend for 1 game of football and it was awful, the police were arseholes down there! Lets beat them Sunday and hopefully write history! Did you miss the 18.43 London Midland from Euston and have to pay to get on the Vigin?

I hope Danny Dyer and Frodo Baggins don't make the trip. I've heard they are pwopa nawty. ;D Seriously though, I really could do without any mither. Looks like I'll be taking my elderly dad and young son the long way round by the Boothen instead of the usual direct walk back from the Seddon to the car after the game.

I thought I'd put the record straight about the Inter City Firm.
There hasn't been one since the early nineties. There are a few small groups of kids interested in trouble but nothing that amounts to a "firm" any more.
When WH played Palermo in the UEFA Cup a couple of years ago they took a hard core of around 600 of the just about the most horrible fans any English team can probably turn up, but there was probably not one of them that was under 45.
This group included those that had been the subject of a number of films and books. It was a fair proportion of this group that did for Birmingham a few weeks ago.
These guys are not regular fans any more, many of them hold down responsible jobs or have significant business interests. They show up for the really nasty days out ie Millwall at home and Birmingham away in the last couple of years.
If this lot have decided to go Sunday, and its seems they may have from what's been said elsewhere, I would suggest that genuine fans stay out of the centre of Stoke on the morning of the game.
Please don't shoot the messenger, I am not glorifying or justifying any of this,. just putting right some earlier posts.

This incident at West ham has been blown out of proportion completely by their site KUMB. Their were two mobs of stoke hooligans im told. Some West ham lads started the Norther cants and bit off more than they could chew. Note the lad on the youtube clip with the blood on his face, doesnt look like a little schoolboy to me. No kids or scarfers were attacked. KUMB have got a lot to answer for stoking this. Sorry fella, going to have to disagree with you on this, left the game early on sat with my granddaughter, about a doz stoke came out of Tudor Road into Green Street and just started laying into kids waking away from the ground, totally unprovoked and out of the blue. The clip on u tube is of them then being coralled by the police against the shops opposite, by that time the game was over and most west ham walked past them unawares what had just gone on. Never had a problem with Stoke, always considered them proper fans, but that was totally out of order and has upset a lot down here. Not saying we, like everyone, dont have our fair share of idiots, lets hope they find each other on sun and let the rest of us enjoy a cracking cup-tie

Westhambill, I left the game early...unusual for me but heh, it was poor...but the police had sealed off the road and wouldn't let anyone away...not sure how these 'lads' could have got where you saw them. Due to my grey hair and kindly face i WAS actually allowed to go through the police cordon annd head off home, but I doubt any of the hoolies got through
Strange

To be honest, you lot won't be able to work out if you're in the centre of Stoke or Stoke-on-Trent city centre, so I'm not overly concerned.

(fuck, was that a compliment to stoke ???) christ we even had 40(half of them were just barmy fuckers and not our firm) walk down the barking road at the carling cup game this season smashing anyone and offering it to anyone. would west ham ever do this at OT ? would they fuck

HamWest has made a reasonable post and we shouldnt disrespect that. I think they will try and make a show having more than 3 decades experience with these guys- what makes me laugh is the mock code of conduct that "we dont hit Scarfers"....West Ham have never abided by this- everybody fair game- including me as a 15 year old with my 11 year old brother at Upton park in 1978.Im now 47 and dont want any trouble- but one thing I am sure about Stoke is most of us wont run away from bullies- they never took the Boothen in the 70s or 80s and that wont change- my worry is that they will turn up mob handed without the law tracking them outside some boozer and people will get hurt..on a ligher note... Passive resistance can sometimes be better...during the debacle on the Coventry Road in Brum a fat Hammer who was in his late 40s confronted a skinny Brummie teenager who was standing around eating a fish supper- the Middle aged cockney reptile shouts "Come on you want it! ICF...you Brummie W*nker"...and he says back "Im only little- cant I finish my chips first?"...the confused reptile wandered up the road and offered some one else out

How many times have teams threatened to hit Stoke town centre and how many times has it happened.Very difficult to get there by train unless your very early as the police fog hold of away fans. Only way is minibuses or taxis etc. Theres nothing in Stoke but a crossroads, charity shops and about ten pubs. Think about it would you fancy being a away mob stranded in amongst that lot with no way out. And that my friends is why you will see no west ham mob in stoke town centre

im here in peace and have been on and off all day.
but one thing you shouldnt do is underestimate the hammers old boys.
they came out of retirement for a cup match at old trafford and again at palermo.
they do reform in numbers as well, palermo was 600 odd.
personaly i'm just hoping for a good day out

went down there for a League Cup game in the late 80's (?) where we lost 3-0. In total Stoke took a following of less than 300 that night, full of normals and scarfers like me.
Saying that, I was bricking it that night as much as anywhere I've ever been in this country. Utterly bonkers they were at the tube station and as a youngster I didn't dare utter a single word until; we got back to my bothers place.
Just hope that this talk on here is just that, talk. And that my young lad won't feel as sh** scared as I did all those years ago.

could go one of 2 ways. Reading West Ham online, it could be like THAT match against the mags in '94 (?), when every smack head, crack head and dick head in the city (and theres lots ) came to welcome the geordies for slapping one of the ceramic citys ladies, or the other way, like every match against Cardiff.

West Ham away in the 80s ha brings back bad memories, remember sitting on the tube before the game full of West Ham lads, I stared at my feet the whole time, was as horrible as they came, Stoke always turned out at Cardiff, Brum, Wolves, Millwall, Man City etc in those days but never at W Ham, must of all had W Ham flu.

In answer to what went on,on saturday, This is as I saw it, we had a couple of casual dressed gangs of lads, including some fat lad in a barbour(re earlier poster), who were 'all gob and no action',obviously up for something, one gang was mostly young pissed up,wannabee dickheads, the other some old faces who looked capable of doing something, but were trying to enjoy the game. There were also some of the old London stokies, but quite a lot weren't our regular away. The old bill were everywhere outside our end, a lot of high ranking were in the concourse giving instructions. A seargent Fry was acting as a spotter and although he was trying the polite approach to stop people sticking the v's up to westham, he was actually antagonising many as the match was getting dire to watch, some of the lads in the video were spoken to and I think because of the police and stewards not letting them gesticulate and swear towards the west ham fans they chose to leave early, as I did when they scored the 3rd goal. When I went to leave there was a massive police cordon, and they were bringing all the coaches round, some of the'lads' were trying to 'firm up', only to be turned left down the alleyway to Green St. I wanted to get to the Barking road as I had parked at tesco by the n.circular but had to go down Green St and then I eventually cut back to barking rd across a park. There were a few west ham fans giving a bit of abuse but nothing all that serious I ended up in the central on barking rd and they were all friendly enough they had just won 3-0. I would say that OTT policing and a shit effort by Stoke was the course of what happened, along with wannabee filmstars watching Danny Dyer videos. Its being blown out of all proportion by the anoraks tapping there pc's. I remember the 70's and 80's and it was nothing like that, we don't want ID cards again so lets not big this up, as I fear it will snowball out of control with all the implications.
