I know that everyone is pissed and worried about the pathetically terrible all around performance this match, but do you honestly think we will be relegated? Everyone needs to quit being so over the top negative. They played like crap but they are obviously not gonna play like that every game for the rest of the year. The chance of relegation is slim to none. It's not gonna happen. Right now the way I feel after yet another totally shit away performance - we are down

The way we are spunking points away means the threat of relegation is as close as a virgins piss lips

We have nine games to go, four of which are against teams who are currently in the top five places in the league. They are basically games which should be written off...if we get a point from Chelsea (H), Arsenal (H), Tottenham (A) and Man City (A) we'll have done very bloody well.
All of which leaves us, I reckon, needing five points from Newcastle, Wolves and Wigan at home and Villa and Blackpool away. We really should have no problem achieving that, but it's by no means a certainty.
What should worry us is the fact that come the end of the season there's a very good chance that we will have lost 18 or 19 league matches. That's a kind of statistic that relegated teams boast, and it certainly wouldn't augur well for the future nor would it give us any kind of base to "really push on".

Need to get our facts right. 30 points in Jan and then 4 points from our last seven games, 5 of which were away. Even that form would get us to 40 points plus so it is tighter than it should be but let's not make up statistics Sorry you're right, it is 4 from 7. Not great though is it? Games against Fulham, Blues, West Brom and West Ham should have yielded more than 1 point. Yes, but Fulham, Blues, West Brom and West Ham are world beaters! Just wait till we play easy teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Man City! The points will flood in!

One minute we're achieving results against Newcastle etc and simultaneously losing enough matches to be relegated! You can't have it both ways!

We have lost far too many games this season already this season. Won 10 Drawn 4 Lost 15 Not good.

It's the lack of draws that is really killing us. We've never won that many away but we have always drawn a few.
Those draws have turned to losses this year thereby putting to much pressure on the home results and its starting to tell.

Last season
Won 11 Drawn 14 Lost 13
So we've already won nearly as many games as last season, already lost 2 more and drew 10 less.

Last season Won 11 Drawn 14 Lost 13 So we've already won nearly as many games as last season, already lost 2 more and drew 10 less. The draw thing is a killer and illustrates that we are no longer that hard to beat. It certainly won't be a shock if we end up losing 20 games this season which is pretty bloody poor. As I said earlier in the thread, I think we'll be alright (just) and although I'd happily take that now, our season will end up being a regressive year when really we should have been pushing further on. The squad needs a huge overhaul as we simply don't have adequate cover in most of the key areas. My worry is how we are going to ship out the crap we have who are stealing an obscene amount of money out of Stoke City when they don't even get on the pitch.

I agree and I'm playing statto! Jamo-if we stay up I hope for the same but after years of misusing the transfer windows I won't hold my breath. We've needed certain players for ages and we still haven't got them.

I think that the no draw thing was possibly the catalyst for TP changing tact and going negative away from home... However 1 win away is as good as 3 draws. He really has fucked up since the Liverpool away match. He really needs to work his magic now otherwise we could be watching Championship footie next season.
