Where we fucked up with Ba was the negotiation post him 'failing' the medical
He is clearly fit to play (So much for that one eh Kempy ?) so instead of playing it all hardball and saying that we were walking away we should have gone back with a similar deal to that which West Ham offered.
Im putting this one down fairly and squarely in the 'Tony Scholes is out of his depth' category

I can see and understand every side of the argument on this one. My gut feeling was that we should have signed irrespective of the injury. But as the post above says we cocked it up once he had failed his medical.

Maybe KJ is unhappy at stoke? Would certainly explain his lacklustre performances so maybe he doesnt want to be here?

not bad for £500,000 How much has each of jones goals cost us £1.5m? The £500,000 fee is bollox. It is undisclosed.

Ok, by the time i got a train from Moor St & it arriving at The Hawthorns it filled up a few Worcester based Hammers heading home too. Their impressions of Ba surprised me to say the least. Yes he scored 2 today, but they didn't think him worth all the hype/tripe that was banded about during the transfer window. They do think that he could be the player to guarantee them survival IF he stays fit (which they doubt...) Laughable comment was that they would rather have had a Kenwynne in their side...Hmmmm

I really do think that Ba will score the goals that keep Wetsham up, and I'd Bank on him getting one against us when we go down there in 3 weeks time.

I'd love to know what the medical showed up, in terms of a long-term prognosis. Hard to be too critical - but would love to know if we were still in for him once it became clear Hoff were willing to let him go on pretty attractive incentive-based terms. Kemp was saying he was unable to play in the short-term, despite the 20-odd Bundesliga games before Christmas. I actually distrust Kemp more than I do TP, how the fuck did he get paid for 12 months in South America and come up with Aresmendi as his only fucking glory shows what he is worth to this club...fuck all.

TP = BA was not worth the risk.......pissa I think it was the medical staff that put to the management team though wasn't it? Seems to me that West Ham have taken the gamble they have loaned him (probably paying all his wages) and we were not prepared to buy him for xxx millions. Some you win some you lose :/

The more I think about it the more I think he was never going to sign for us. Something was always to crop up because I highly doubt TP was ever seriously interested. Similar to the Loic Remy fiasco. Love or loathe him there's no escaping the fact that he simply doesn't do overseas transfers (Arismendi and Demar Phillips apart, but that was only on the advice of Kemp and Ric respectively and neither of them figure(d) highly in TPs plans. Oh and Richie De Laet who some believe was always destined to go Man Utd). Need anyone be reminded of this news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/stoke_city/4630755.stm from a few years ago? Yes we've progressed quite a lot as a club since then, however TP is still TP

Yes we've progressed quite a lot as a club since then, however TP is still TP I know a lot of people try to take any story and put an anti-TP spin on it, but you don't make multi million pound bids and fly players in to complete medicals if your "never seriously interested". He failed a medical, so he wasn't worth taking a massive gamble on. Whether or not we could have got him on a similar deal to West Ham is a different story, although I suspect we may have burnt some bridges. Luckily, we aren't in the same situation as West Ham where we have to gamble.

If he gets 100 % over his injury, shows good form for West Ham and they still get relegated - would we try to snap him up in the summer? There will be firesales at Upton Park if they go down .....

Having seen the goals on telly I'd put myself up for scoring his goals. There will be better defending up and down stoke on trent this morning than west Brom had yesterday. But the real point is - he doesn't play for stoke because he failed our fitness test and his club would not let him come to us on loan. I hope he doesn't score for West Ham again, because the way we are playing, we need three teams to have worst form than us going into the last quarter of the season
