I'm not fucking suprised like, most probably the worst referee I have ever seen like. Fair play on the win like but you would think after millions upon millions spent, and your 3rd year in the Prem, that you would be able to pass a football now..... like. Anyway I'm angry, good luck with the rest of the season. Millions weve spent? You have spend millions more and failed to finish above us in the league for the 2 seasons weve had in the prem. Reality check I feel. SGT

I think Bruce has bought well and is putting a decent team together but overall today Stoke deserved at least a draw and just about the win. The 'offside' first goal would have been a hell of a spot from the lino and there was a player behind the line, there was a definite backpass (and whoever said we didnt claim it must be deaf) and mensah was all over Jones everytime it came over and Gyan definitely pushed Huth in the back for the second. My biggest worry is that we did stand off too much and Tony should trust his players a bit more- anyway we won you lost suck it up boys!

Bollocks did we. Your guy passes it back to Gordon nothing given. Henderson commits 2 yellow card challenges-doesn't get sent off. Stop making excuses. Passes it back? haway man most your crowd werent even shouting for that one. Ive never seen so many soft freekicks in a long time, never mind the roughing in the box. Enjoy the rest of your season lads. I think you will find that it's the responsibility of the John Smiths Upper to complain about poor back pass decisions, and I tell you, there will be some very angry letters heading to the FA as soon as our quill ink has dried

Sunderlands were beaten by their own indiscipline.....time and time again they gave away needless free kicks and Etherington was taken out 4 times by 4 different players resulting in 4 yellow cards and thats before the constant fouls on Pennant?....they need to look a bit closer to home as to why they lost today.

Still the same old hoofball, might as well have saved the money and kept the same team. I gave you the benefit of the doubt before the game, as some of your fans kept bleating on about the media being unfair to poor Stoke, and they do play decent football now, but even the most ardent Stoke fan can see there are no changes forthcoming. Shirley you agree?

The point made was that you've spent millions more than us yet still finished below us play, apparently, much better football Surely a sign that spending millions and playing "nice stuff" has got you nowhere?

Funny how they say we hoof it. The only time they were a threat today was when they launched it down the middle of our defence. The rest was tippy tappy nowhere 30 yards from goal.

What I don't understand is this hoofball comment, how was sunderlands 2nd created? There 1st was scrambled in area, a Gyan miskick lead to Richardson smashing it. Also 5-4-1 formation, there back 3 marked Carew and Jones and full backs marked Pennant and Ethers, which then left 4 on our 2 in the middle, they would have to be shit not to out manouvre 2. The worst tackle of the game was by Sunderlands 28 Sessegon is it? Coulda been a red that looked like 2 feet off the ground. Henderson could have gone if both incidents were correctly punished. Also the ref spoke to Sunderlands player on set pieces more as they man handled Stokes. The ref gave you decisions also, how he thinks 1 player(walters) can foul 2 Sunderland players is beyond me, that Gordon is just a tart! The Ferdinand back pass was also blatant. The 1st goal is off Gordon gloves which nocks it back. Edit: Also I have seen on sky highlights, we had 55% possesion and you committed 15 fouls compared to our 7, pure football aye

the pig- my point is that one of your defenders (ferdinand i think) was behind the line but should still count as the second player as he stepped back forward to try to clear and hadnt got the ref permission to leave the pitch therefore Carew was onside or it was very tight as Bardsley (i think ) was level (ish)

Unsure what's bitter about it really.
We come to the Brit today and played football. We were the better side and deserved a draw at the very least. Through very poor officiating you were gifted a win.

If you want points for style, take up diving or fashion design

In fact, you'd have been lucky to get a draw.

You know what, as Stoke fans we are all aware of the downsides to Pulisball. Like the Liverpool game the other night - flat and no intensity.
Today was in danger of that scenario again but after the substitution, the intensity returned and Sunderland were on the ropes. Pennant and Huth deliver the KO blow.
That final 30 mins or so was fast, intense and all Stoke pressure. If that isn't good (English style) football then I don't know what is.
If we did have a midfield general who could spray the passes about (Beckham style long balls) , we would be in better shape still. Roll on summer transfer window

Just responding to the thread. The best side lost today, you'll probably all agree deep down.
Atmosphere wasn't up to scratch today either. Do you fans pick and choose when they're the "loudest fans in the country"?
