Did anybody honestly think that he was going to put his best team out midweek away at Liverpool when he have another game on Saturday morning, FFS get real 3 games in 6 days he has moaned about it enough; there are actually people on here who have called for him to play Etherington and Pennant in all 3 games.

Exactly, strongest team against Sunderland (which is by far the most winnable) Thats why Etherington, Jones and Delap were rested tonight. But lets want Pulis Out, it's more fun

Wasn't one of those games Wolves, where we played a fairly weak side anyway?
And don't we have another cup game a week on Saturday?

We'll see if it was the right choice after the Sunderland game on Saturday then is the time to critiscize. If Bruce picks the same team he did against Chelsea then we should win at a canter as they should all be so exhausted they wont be able to catch up with our super fit fresh players. Lets not forget though they are proffesional athletes.

Sunderland will be no push overs. Will be happy with one point.

So why didnt we properly strengthen the squad in the transfer window then ?
Even a loan or two in key positions would have helped ? (we could have signed Carew properly to free up another loan)
Personally speaking - I think TP wanted to but I also think Coates has told him we have too many stiffs on the wage bill who need fucking off first

simple answer - 3 years to build a SQUAD.
and yet we still get Diao. Scandalous.

Someone was going to post it ...
3 games in 6 days excuses the players picked (mainly)
3 games in 6 days doesn't excuse the tactics employed.
That is the more worrying thing
(As is Jimmy Pennant having to do 90 minutes and whether that means he can't start on Satdee)

A win is nice yes, but it's not the be all and end all. Using that logic we rest players in the cup games then, and play our strongest team in the league, yes? Three games in a week , yet how many of the players who started at Wolves were regulars? Shouldn't our first team be able to handle two games in a week?

Nothing at Brum and Arse and a point against Baggies. We need to sort it out big time. Its as if Pulis wants us to be down there.

In fairness to Matty he's played (and I think started) every single PL game this year. He's bound to be exhausted by now and would you prefer to go to Anfield with no wingers or one?

I guess you would have to say two, but the timing of them has compounded it more, eg if we had played Tues night then normal time Saturday then ok. The fitness levels of players nowadays, training and speed of the game puts more pressure on their bodies, and for speed merchants like Matty it's worse, plus the kicking that wingers normally get.
It's difficult to take I know but you have to look at the bigger picture and the greater good for SCFC.

But we rested a good chunk of the first team at Wolves, so fot them it isn't really three games - so why aren't they capable of playing two games in a week?

Chelsea and Man U don't rest their best players when they've got a Champions League game mid week. TP didn't and hasn't been starting two wingers lately because he trying to accommodate Wilson in the side.

Blooding Wilson is a good thing though isn't it? most people think the lad will be a class act and based on the managers recent comments about building a younger side for the future starting next year, he will probably be a key part of that.

I realy hate these type of comments.... I get up at 4 every morning and then work a 10 hour + day and get paid every month wage that would be greater if I claimed on the dole.
If I was payed the amount that the fairys that currently play for Stoke get I would never have a problem at all........ Stupid comments.

Maybe he is but TP (quite rightly) doesn't trust Whitehead, Diao or Rory to carry out the 'holding' role on their own, so he sacrifices one of the wingers in order to play two of them ... We didn't have three games last week but we still lost a winger to accommodate Wilson against Fulham.

Tuncay didn't play on the wing against Fulham Gary. If TP hadn't wanted Wilson in there, he would have gone ... Pennant---Rory---Deano---Ethers Tuncay Jones

He played up top with Jones. What i meant was Pulis would never play Ethers, Pennant AND Tuncay together. I dont think its got anything to do with Wilson. When Carew and Jones start getting games together i am sure you will see BOTH Pennant and Ethers.

Oh and for those people who are claiming that players can't play three games in six days, can I assume that you fully expect Carew to be rested against Sunderland?

To all these ludicrous "I work 25 hour shifts and lick the road clean on the way home" comments,
If its that f*cking easy why didnt you become a proffesional footballer, then you wouldn't spend your life whining how much you earn?
