Seeing as we might be welcoming Porkin back to the Brit on Saturday, which former players deserve a good reception and which deserve serious abuse? I always thought JOC got some unfair stick after he left.

At least Big John doesn't need any stick as he was forced out! He just couldn't get fit enough for us!

Obviously Liam for a good reception. Kits is nailed on to score against us and may get a bad reception. Cressie should get a good one if be returns.

Sheron and Kav both left purely for the money but claimed it was for football reasons and that's why they got so much stick. I think I'd have had a bit of respect if they'd just come out and admitted they were a pair of greedy bastards!

I remember Loek Ursem coming on as sub for Sunderland at Stoke when we had loaned him to them - Came on with the Boothen chanting 'Ursem, ursem give us a wave' and duly obliged as soon as he set foot on the pitch

Didn't Sheron get well and truly stitched up by fat Jez who made him sign some Godawful statement that painted him as a mercenary?

Do you think Dave Kitson would get abuse should he return to the Brit for Pompey or some other club???? Same with Beattie???????
I think it could go either way with those two.
I'd certainly give Kommons some dogs abuse should our paths ever cross again....

I loved the reception Kris Commons got, throughly deserved and got him subbed with 20 mins (as I reember it). I hate booing of current players which means I can't get enough of booing ex-players that leave under a cloud, Sheron and Kav spring to mind. Kav gpt shit because he slagged us off in the papers after leaving - that is alwyas deserving of a good boo. I don't mind giving exes a warm reception when they enter but as soon as the game starts they are opposition and deserving of everythig they get.
Having said that I loved it when Steino came back beacuse he never even looked like he tried against us. he was Stokie through and through.

Anyone remember the verbal abuse Graham Shaw got from the travelling stokies in the early 90's at Deepdale? He got loads of it,at the time he had just been done for drink driving, left his wife and was a ex stoke player.Felt sorry for him that day as i had always liked him.Later that season he scored Preston's winner at The Vic and refused to celebrate. In the next day's sentinel he said he couldn't celebrate scoring against the team he still supported. Top Stokie was and still is Shawry.
