The last publicised task he was given by the club was to fly in to Hungary and finalise Vass's new contract. Well done Rudgey, you Vale tossrag.

I notice he's started to stategically appear on photos of training, all track-suited-up.
Strange, as even at Vale he was considered emphatically to be a manager, rather than any kind of tracksuit coach, wasn't he?
Isn't he on much-reduced hours and much-reduced pay as of this season? Coates must think he's doing something worthwhile somewhere.

I think he was valuable when we had foreign managers who had a limited knowledge of the English game - he was instrumental in bringing in players like Hansson, Hoekstra, Gally to the club and before they fell out, Boskamp credited Rudge with salvaging the Hoefkens deal when it looked dead and buried.
Whether his input is valuable or even valued uder the current regime is unclear.
