They doubled up on our wingers, and defended the set pieces well, which effectively shut us down, we're always hoping the ball just drops in the box, but it never did.

Pulis and Hughes have a bit of a spat at the end? They didn't shake hands. As Wenger said and quite rightly so, he decides whether he shakes hands with opposing managers or not.

I had a feeling that this would happen after beating Blackburn. Typical Stoke we have the opportunity to make the top 6 and give ourselves some daylight between us and the bottom 3 and we blow it. Terrible result but I'm sure we'll bounce back especially if we can sign some fresh faces. I still am totally baffled by TP's selections we looked jaded surely Ric or Tuncay should have started if not both and Wilson in for a game instead of Rory or Whitehead or amI big naive.

We were poor for the third match in a row. Played off the pitch in midfield in our last two home matches.
Hoofed the ball up to Hangeland to just keep heading it clear, just the same as 2 seasons ago.
We a lacking in centre midfield and have no idea of how to play a different style of football.

overun in the middle again ,if we play 2 wingers TP needs to drop one of the forwards into midfield it happens time and time again ,whats the point of buying better players ,skillfull ballplayers,if we carry on with same brainless hoofball ,championship football !!!!!!

We have 3 very important games home to Everton and Bolton and away at Fulham. January is a massive month for us. Would love to take 7 points from them but with Stoke you never know. Come on Stoke.

It seems that teams have sussed us out at home, we have a poor centre midfield and so rely to heavily on the wingers, the away teams double up on the wingers and snuff out most of our attacking threat, the forwards then have to feed off the ball being lumped up to them which yesterday was easy for Hangeland and Shwartzer to deal with. The other problem is our poor starts to games, which isn't helped by having our two most inventive & skillfull players Fuller & Tuncay on the bench.

Wilko and Pennant linking up was good to see. But we need a centre midfielder who can link up between the defence/wings and/or get into the box and score a few.
We can be really creative when we have a RB who links with Pennant and Fuller drops off to give them more support, but then we're lacking people in the box...
Walters doesn't hold the ball up or create enough to be played alongside KJ from the start. Collins caused the breakdown of a lot of attacking plays on the left and our CM were weak again.
Did anyone see replays btw? I thought JP took the ball when they were given the free kick for their second goal, Hangeland should have been sent off for elbowing in headers, they pushed players in the back a lot and they handballed it in the area a few times. Plus Whitehead could have had a penalty for being mown down even if his shot was shot.

Definite need for creative midfield player who can slot balls through to give the service. But we do need to shoot more and get in good positions in the box. We do not think enough about what positions to receive balls into the box and not clinical enough. Pay as you go with Jimmy Bullard would not do any harm, Steven Ireland maybe but take him away from quality players and he doesn't look so good. Parker would be my favourite, but don't think he's going anywhere. Perhaps an old lag like Scholls (I said like Scholls not necessarily him)
