Lots selecting the 4 - 0 at Leeds and it was fantastic but most of the best, for me, came in the early 70's. The 4 - 0 was a shite Leeds team and, in the 80's we beat Leeds 6 and 7 in consecutive seasons. So I go for the 5 - 0 against Arsenal in 71. All the more satisfying as Arsenal won the League and Cup double. I well remember the 6 - 2 game with Chelsea and particularly Mickey Droy (I think he scored 2 own goals).

1. The 5-0 demolition of Arsenal in the early seventies
2. The amazing 3-2 win over Leeds when coming back from 2-0 down
3. Stoke 5 West Ham 2 - Chambo was on fire that day, and what a performance
4. Beating United 2-1 at the Vic in 71-72 when Best, Charlton and co couldnt cope with us
5. Drawing with the might Ajax at the Vic in our first ever venture into Europe - not a match winning performance, but one I will always remember 6 Beating Chelsea 2-1 1972 League Cup Final 7 Beating West-Ham 3-2 second Semi-Final replay at Old Trafford 1972 8 Notts County 1979...Richardson with 3 minutes to go... 9 Cardiff Ninian Park Play-Off Semi...'Will Cardiff City supporters Please Stay Off The Pitch'... 10 Villa Home 2008/9...first home game in The Promised Land for 23 years... Plus hundreds of others....

Vale 0 Stoke 2.
Because we all thought we had blown it losing to Blackpool, with an away game to our nearest(league position and location) rivals next up; but we did them, start to finish. When Stein scored I don't think that mental was surpassed until Villa this year
I know it was a lower level, but so were we then.

In the context of our relative league positions the Liverpool 2 Stoke 2 League Cup game takes some beating.

Like many on here of a certain age, the Leeds 3.2 game was just unbelievable, also the the Alan Hudson demolition of Liverpool 2.0 in front of 46,000 in 1974 will always be with me.

And he was carrying an injury you'll recall Greenhoff. That was why we watered the pitch to 'bog like' proportions.

in a similar vein to sir robin i remember a few years ago travelling to the hawthorns in the sunshine we hammered them that day and effectively stopped them from getting automatic promiton i'll never forget , john parkin game off the bench for an injured mama sidibe, only to be taken off after about half an hour on the pitch! thats said in that half an hour he'd scored one haha was one of the best games i ever been too will always remember that one

All of the above but also Stoke v Kaesaslautin (not sure about spelling) in 1972. It was a midweek game and the fact that i got to stay up late made the night even more enjoyable. I think we won 4 - 1. (Unfortunately we lost the 2nd leg 4 - 0 i think)
When did we beat Ipswich 9 - 1 ?

I have a dream: Think it was 3-1 at home mate and 0-4 away. John Ritchie was just coming on as a sub when one of their players spat at him. Big John twated him and was promptly sent off.

Hull City 2 Stoke 3. FA Cup 1/4 final early 70s.
Hull 2 - 0 up inside 20 minutes, just before half time TC rounded the keeper and pulled one back.
The 2nd half it was all Stoke and finally Big John slotted home the equaliser and near the end headed home at the back post, the Stoke following packed behind the goal went wild.
It was a fantastic comeback.
