Jimmy Greenhoff, and I remember how sad I was because I didn't get his autograth while at Stoke. so I wrote him a letter when he was at United, and within a few days a letter dropped down in my mailbox with his autograph.

Mark stein was and still is the ultimate striker in my eyes, I was absolutely gutted when he left for Chelsea. I still can not compare another striker who i have seen play for stoke to Steino. If we had a striker like him now he would be worth double crouch's transfer fee, I'm sure he went for 1million back then.
Sob..... im still not over him That goal against the shit sends shivers up my spine just thinking about it. if kids get as much from our strikers nowadays then its worth every single penny, You just can not buy memory's like that.

Huddy, esp for his first spell; not quite the player in his second spell but he could still drag a team up to play football that was low in confidence. Met him in Stoke Museum when he was signing his book 'the Waddington Year's ' (check it out for the 'odd' spelling mistake) & he was stil recovering from his near fatal accident, but he was still flirting with my wife!

Jimmy Greenhoff.Best player ive ever seen in a Stoke shirt. Scored great goals. Made other players around him into better players. He was top class in an era of very good players.

Sammy Irvine I was about 6 when I first went to my first match Stoke v Luton a 0-0 bore draw of the highest calibre but the day I fell in love with the old vic and the atmosphere. Sammy was captain and the only player on the pitch that day who seemed to want a win.

Jimmy Greenhoff. I was 10 when he was transferred to Man Utd to pay for the Butler Street roof. That was the day my childhood innocence ended and I realised that life is full of disappointment! His continued allegiance to Stoke to this day when he could have easily jumped onto the ex Man Utd player media bandwagon is a measure of the great man. A superb player and ambassador for SCFC.

Although I never seen Ritchie play, he's from my hometown so always heard stories about him.
My first proper hero was Peter Hoekstra. Used to like Arnie Gunnlaugsson too!

Mark Chamberlain, no player since has got me as excited when they had a ball at their feet. Had a soft spot for Paul Maguire as well, used to love the near post corners for the flick on.
