I've known Harvey for almost 30 years having lived across the way from his parents place.
We saw each other everyday as kids and as we became Men we stared to follow our own Paths. This led to us meeting up on fewer occasions but Harvey always made it seem like the last time was only yesterday.
He was never short of a laugh and I have never been in the same place as him and been sad, he just would allow it.
I am sure everyone who knew him can testify he was the brightest light in any room, and I could personally tell you many stories about us growing up, and everyone makes me smile.
The only fight I ever actually saw him in, he was about nine years old, and it was against me, and I like the think neither of us lost as we both gained a friend.
My first day at Thistley Hough, he kept reminding me in music to always call the teacher by his name as he hate being called Sir. "Remember to use his name 'Mr Steeple'" But his name was Mr Chapel. I knew he was up to something and did fall for it so I avoided the size 10 slipper for that lesson. He managed to get it for us in the next music lesson though.
The Vera Duckworth perm phase.
At 17 I was out of a job so he came with me to the job centre and made it a mission to get me a job that day. He even came with me to the interview and told the guy "Ok he can start on Monday" and I stayed there for 18 months before transferring to a sister company.
I have to say Harvey is truly a product of his family, so warm and welcoming, and they always make you laugh.
I’m so privileged to have grown up around him.
So Fatigue, sleep well my dear friend.
Your Friend - Phines, Figgis, Flackers to name a few of the nicknames you gave me.

I was at Riley's Hanley for an Interleague pool match last Friday. A minute's silence was impeccably held before the games commenced, a fitting tribute. Never seen it at a pool match before.
Stoke won 17-1. Never knew you, but RIP mate, hope your boys do the business down at the national finals at Yarmouth this weekend.

I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has offered their condolences and wrote such heart warming things about Harvey. Yesterday was a very tough day but the warmth shown by everyone there helped us through it. Ruth gave me the great honor by asking me to be a pawl bearer, it is something I will be eternally grateful for and will never forget, carrying my friend on his last journey after all those years he's carried me home is something that will live with me forever. It is testament to how loved Harvey is that the church was full with about 40-50 people stood up at the back, I was one of the first out of the church, we where met by another 250-300 people who had stood outside who had been listening to the service on speakers. Around 500 people had come to pay their respects to the man. The last 10 days have been very hard, I still can't get my head around what's happened, I don't know if I ever will. I will print this off and give it to Sam when he is a bit older so he can see what a great man his dad is. God bless Harv.

Harvey, It's a long time since we last spoke, about 17 years to my reckoning.... We had some great games on the table.... the pool table I couldn't live with you, but the snooker table was my domain. If memory serves me well, you won the last game we played, which is a fitting tribute. I didn't know your family, but I can class myself as someone who knew you, albeit many years ago. Your loss mate has affected me on many levels. It has made me realise my own mortality, and has saddened me beyond belief. All I can remember in those hazy days of the social at the NSRI is your hair (blond and all over the place!) I will miss u mate.
RIP
Paul
