It's always worth facing a few facts lads. There are plenty of people who think the British Army has blood on its hands, and who's to say they're wrong? And the idea that the cheerful semiliterates who post often enough on threads like this have any business striking attitudes about spelling and -- history -- seriously!
They call the Union Flag 'The Butcher's Apron' you know, and for a reason.
Here's the poem the banner quotes from and, history buffs, they did drag James Connolly from a hospital bed and shoot him, really.
Read well and remember:
James Connolly
A great crowd had gathered outside of Kilmainhem With their heads all uncovered they knelt on the ground For inside that grim prison lay a brave Irish soldier His life for his country about to lay down.
He went to his death like a true son of Ireland, The firing party he bravely did face. Then the order rang out: "Present arms, Fire!"; James Connolly fell into a ready made grave.
The black flag they hoisted, the cruel deed was over, Gone was the man who loved Ireland so well, There was many a sad heart in Ireland that morning, When they murdered James Connolly, the Irish rebel.
God`s curse on you, England, you cruel hearted monster, Your deeds would shame all the devils in Hell, There were no flowers blooming but the Shamrock is growing On the grave of James Connolly, the Irish rebel.
Many years have rolled by since the Irish rebellion, When the guns of Brittania they loudly did speak, The bold I.R.A. battled shoulder to shoulder, as the blood of their bodies flowed down Sackville Street.
The Four Courts of Dublin, the English bombarded, The spirit of freedom, they tried hard to quell But above all the din rose the cry "No Surrender!" `Twas the voice of James Connolly, the Irish Rebel.

padlocked Lad, where the hell did you get your sectarian information from. I have never heard such a load of shite in my life. You wanna get yourself upto Glagow and visit some of the areas frequented by non sectarian Rangers fans.
Rangers are fuelled by sectarian hatred - season tickets burned outside Ibrox the day Mo Johnston signed for them, because he was a Catholic. Ask Basil Boli why he left so quickly, he was abused because he was Black and a catholic - realy I can go on, I am a celtic fan and proud to be one, I don't hate anybody, I don't hate British Soldiers, and there are elements at Parkhead that do. But PLEASE don't get illusions about Ibrox being clean, and its shirt is probably the most popular in Northern Ireland.
Some of the posts on this thread disgust me, the attitude of those fans at Parkhead disgust me - but carry on if you like, whilst there is so much venom kicking about and false belief we will always be sending our armies to war.

I love the way some make out that Rangers fans are such saints. Unbelievable ........both have sections of their support as bad aseach other. Obviously the Brits will stick up for Rangers but to say one outdo the other is complete nonsense I'm sorry.
NorthsideStoke- you seem to be the only one on here who actually understands the problem with these two clubs

celtic are the only sectarian club in glasgow, hibs being the other in Scotland!!! Rangers wasn't a club formed by 'protestants' to look after 'protestants' in those dark days of victorian hardship!! It was celtic and hibs that formed their clubs to 'look after' their 'own'....and today they have the nerve to call rangers and other clubs 'sectarian', it beggars belief!! Celtic and Hibs have always been clubs for catholics, look at their line ups, how many protestants do they 'really' have...but they always make a big deal out of rangers not signing a catholic blah blah It's a shame the paddies are not drunks and thick cunts because they wouldn't be here to cause all this crap...if they had a brain cell they might of managed to get on their ships to new york and boston instead of littering the streets of glasgow and liverpool asking for handouts, bringing along with them all sorts of disease, one of them being popery. and didn't you enjoy bonfire night, i surly did, we burnt the pope good and proper ha ha can't get anymore english/british than that eh, burning the cunt, its a shame we don't burn paddies but i remember when i was young de valera used to make his way on top of the bonfire, the irish cunt who left the lights on in dublin so Belfast got bombed by german bombers!!!!! The coward that refused to join the war effort and nearly made this country lose the war because german u-boats could attack british shipping in the western approaches because our naval ports and air bases didnt have the reach to protect ships in that area of the atlantic. fucking irish scum You want banning for this post alone. Out of order on so many levels. What a hateful little shit. I bet you proudly cross the road to avoid walking past a Catholic Church. And fuck me, the Luftwaffe found Coventry and Liverpool without the lights of Gillingham or Oxford being on didn't they? Beggars belief. Edit: De Valera when you were a lad? Did this later apply to 'darkies, wogs, guptas, polaks' or whatever (often Governmentally encouraged or permitted) immigration rush occurred? Have you drank a German beer or been in a German car, eaten Italian style food or used a Japanese computer component since 1945? If yes why- you a traitor or something? Do you actually know WHY you hate rather than WHAT you hate?

At last, some people on this board who can take a balanced view. Some of the comments made about the Celtic fans at the top of this post are as bad if not worse than the banners that they held up. There has been a good attempt at glorifying britishness, rangersness, anti Irishness, it's all hate at the end if the day and hate ain't good. So well done all those who have been as venomous as each other, we can all thank the likes for the wars that we continually get involved in so that we can remember our dead. I would prefer that they weren't dead aswell as thousands and thousNds who have died as a result of our campaigns abroad.

Obviously no Rangers sympathiser mentions the minute silence that Ranger's fans ruined when the Pope died and the trashing of the Catholic gravestones etc .....pissing in the Catholic church, threatening their own players who were Catholic etc ....and even nuns were assaulted. What real men they are yes Celtic are the enemy and Rangers are the Brit saints. They both have sectarian elements- I love those giving it large etc who wouldn't dare do it it in public of course but will no doubt claim they do. Both have their idiots but some are so blind or just plain stupid they can't see that

The last attempt before I give up too!
Some people in Britain have had loved ones killed by British soldiers an the British government. ie NIreland, bloody Sunday etc, uvf, red hand commando, uff, ruc,etc etc. Celtic are not allowed to be Irish, because they are in Scotland but rangers are allowed to be in northern Ireland whilst they are Scottish. The hypocrisy is astounding.
I can't even be bothers to go on, I have read this post and realised that 95% of the posters don't have a clue and are as bad as the Celtic fans who caused the post. The5% who I agree with know who they are.
Shame on the ignorant bigots, the wars will continue because of you!!!
