Left side of midfield has been the major problem all season. Oh well over to Cresswell.

I still have some hope!

Stange that it seemingly got right up to the last hurdle, then collapsed?
Maybe there was some problem with the terms on a possible permanent deal?
He would have been a valuable addition for the left side this season - but I was a bit dubious about the kind of fee mentioned in this morning's press for a permanent deal.

Maybe time got the better of a late starter of a deal. Maybe one to look at in the summer? For now I am pleased with Ameobi, and that was the objective at the start of the day, to get a striker in!

It is strange what it says on BBC Radio Stoke. Perhaps there is some way around the deadline.

Yeah, Whelan came through at about half 11 on the day of a midnight deadline, and not 5pm

A deal may already be done and just subject to confirmation. If the terms are set out and the FA have been notified in time I am sure a late deal can go through?

i hope you are right because Cresswell is just not the answer to the left midfield position - our only remaining weak position
