Didn't look that bad from where I was sat. Albeit in row Z of the Seddon. It was late but Wilko's feet were well down. I think a few on here are subscribing to Wengerism.

"Horrific" "He's a liability" "That's the reason he shouldn't play" What a bunch of hysterical big girls some of you are. It was a late tackle, but that's football...if you're going in with the commitment that Wilko does, you'll get one or two wrong sometimes....it's worth it for the number of times he goes crunching in and comes out with the ball. What you should be commenting on is how Wilkinson knows where a right back should be positioned, how he has the ability to overlap now and again, and how he very rarely lets anyone get past him. A far better right back than Huth, who incidentally, and unsuprisingly, had a great game at centre half tonight. THIS is what i'm talking about

The tackle was late, Wilko missed the ball by a good 2 yards.
I can't believe the lad was badly injured though as Wilko just slid into him.

wilko may of been a tad late.
but he went for a ball that any1 would go for, fulham player slipped giving wilko half a chance of gettin it. that half is enough for me
had he not gone for it and fulham scored from the next ball, he would of been slated by 90% of you.

Agreed. He HAD to make the challenge. I'd have gone nuts if he hadn't.

I thought Dembele was making a bigger fuss of it than it really was; Wilko deserved the yellow but I think the player made a massive deal of it imo.

Just seen it again and it doesn't look good lets just hope the bloke is ok.Also thought Wilko had a decent game but why does he need to dive in that late in the game?

Just read on a Fulham forum that he has a knee injury - not a nice one apparently.
Probably out for 4 weeks to 4 months i expect. They're talking about being screwed until January.

Just watching Hughes' interview again and he is clearly preparing the ground for the lad to make a miraculous recovery. I think Wilko's tackle hurt - nothing more.

Bet Wengers creaming in his pants over that tackle. No doubt he'll team with up Hughes in the coming days to launch another PR offensive against us.

Mark Hughes comments made out he's just ended his career???!
'Dont no why anyone would do that to a fellow professional'
HHmmmm i think he needs to look at Danny Murphy throwing a football in ryan's face in first half ... hypocrit... wenger no.2
Albeit, late poor tackle.

Wilko is a very average footballer.
He doesn't have a footballing brain at all and add to that he's slow, has no control, can't pass.
The only reason he is loved on here is because he's a local lad who pounds his chest every now and again and goes into tackles like a thug.
If he wasn't local nobody would be shouting his praise.
A liability who was never any good the league below nevermind this one.
Oh and those who say not much ever gets passed him? The guy gets turned inside out by anyone quicker off the mark than a barge, thus he has to kick them down.
Poor player...

Well we all have a one off every now and again! Like i say a lot of rose tinted specs are on when Wilko plays because of who he is.

How anyone thinks Wilko is or can be a Premiership quality player is deluded. He's no positional sense and no composure either on or off the ball. Compare his attitude with Shawx after the Arsenal tackle - Shawax in bits, Wilko just walks off - no class at all and does our name no good at all.

"Horrific" "He's a liability" "That's the reason he shouldn't play" What a bunch of hysterical big girls some of you are. . Nothing to do with being hysterical TD. On your first point, it's splitting hairs as to whether it can be classed "horrific" or not - it was a terrible challenge and it looks like he's managed to pretty seriously injure the lad. Your second two quotes are just unquestionably true. That tackle would have been a straight red 7 times out of ten in a Prem game, and like you say, he gets it wrong once or twice a match. I hate to say it because I do think he's better than Huth, but we cannot afford to have him starting in the Prem.

I don't give a shit where he was born, he's decent and look very comfortable tonight. He's the best right back we have and his appearance allowed Huth to play centre back where he looked ten times the player he does at full back.

What a complete and utter shit thread. Loads of people saying what a horrific challenge it was when they've seen it once in real time. Watch it in slow motion and you will see he actually gets the ball with one foot. It was a hard challenge that is all. Most of the comments on this thread are completely OTT and pre-conceived from what people thought they saw.
Please watch it again.

I'm sick of reading this bollocks about people only liking Wilko because he's local.
It's a brainless comment that insults the intelligence of people who can actually put forward a considered argument.

How many times has he actually cost us due to all these supposed rash challenges? I can remember one...the ronaldo incident, which was stupid, but unless someone with a better memory wishes to correct me, that's about it.
