The fact that the ball never arrived at Fuller or EG's feet made it rather difficult for both of them!

We should have won that in the end. Hit the woodwork 3 times (4 if you count Jones' offside header).
My irrelevant match ratings:
Sorensen 7.5 - a couple of great saves in the second half Collins 7 - a couple of poor tackles (including giving away the free-kick for the goal), but looked solid Shawcross 7 - Solid, albeit a bit clumsy at times today Faye 8 - Solid and back to his class best Huth 7 - We know he's not a full back, but he coped well today Whitehead 6 - Much better in the second half Delap 6 - Again, better in the second half Etherington 8 - Looks really dangerous, always willing to run at players. Pennant 8.5 MOTM - Great player. Great cross for the goal. We just need to get it out wide to him! Shame about the hamstring injury Walters 6 - Some nice touches and good hassling, but not quite enough. Nice ball down the line for Pennant for the goal Jones 8 - Could easily have been MOTM, great goal, unlucky with shot off the post.
Subs: Fuller 6.5 - No service near the end, so he didn't really get into the game. Unlucky to hit the bar. Gudjohnsen 5 - Doesn't look entirely fit and couldn't get into the game especially with the poor service at the end. Whelan - not on long enough to give a mark

What was the third? Huth's shot in the first half?

Take Scott Parker out of that West Ham team and they be well and truely doomed. He controlled the pace of their play in the first half...he does would I hope Wilson will eventually do for us...Whelan should be the man and has shown glimpses in the past.
Someone needs to step up and give more assurity to the centre of the park. The gap between midfield and the top two was alarming at times, hence the poor posession stats. Hoping this improves...cos then we'd be a far better team both defensively and in attack.
The search for the missing link continues based on todays performance in midfield.

What was the third? Huth's shot in the first half? Yeah. Huth, Jones and Fuller.

Fuller the impact sub is a bit flawed when he's stripped to come on at 60mins, gets on at 67mins, gets his first touch on 75mins, and gets a maximum of 5 meaningful touches of the ball in a game.
I love you TP, but please stop this nonsense right now.

PArker for MoM is a good shout
I'd have swapped him for either of our central midfielders - Gets forward well, controls the play, plays it simple.
Without him, as said, Wet Sham would be truely average. IF they stay up - if - it will be because of him
As for us, though I can't believe I'm going to type it, I think Wheelo will have to play for one of Rory or Deano ... just too limited with both of them in there ... Maybe Wilse, need to see him a bit more to make a judgement

Hopefully Wilson will get up to speed pretty quickly because our central midfield has to be the poorest in the division
