but your time is up. Absolutely shocking today, never seen anybody so slow. It was like playing with 10 men as the rest of the team carried him. He was even worse when he moved into his prefered position.
Anybody notice how better we looked when Walters moved out right and Tuncay played up top? Coincidence? No! We had a much better balance about us and looked much the better side.

Rory couldn't throw it today and didn't have one of his better performances.

I've always stuck up for him when he had a bad game normally on the right but today was the first time I thought 'he is past it'
You can see he has the brain for it but his passing/crossing/shooting today were really poor
To be honest I think Pulis is slowly moving on from relying on him, I think if he gets his CM target in and when KJ is fit he will be on the bench

Play him in the middle, not on the wing.

Who saw the danger, slotted in at centre back and snuffed out the danger.? Rory, of course, the man whose game is full of such work.

I love Rory but I think the title of the thread is correct.
I would also say that Whelan is way past his 'sell by' date as well.

He was even worse when he moved in the middle, and his throws were wank today. We are more of a threat when we have crosses/corners coming in, we dont need the throw anymore!! Im not saying it was his fault, im actually quite pleased with how we played in the second half and we deserved a draw, but his performance was absolutely piss poor. And im sorry anyone who disagrees wasnt at the game today. Whelan although didnt have the best of games he was certainly better than Rory. Man of the match Dean Whitehead closely run by Walters

I'm sorry to say it, but Rory looks like he's finished at this level.
I think the question marks were there last season about Rory but it now seems his legs have completely gone. We were playing with 10 men in the first half with Delap completely unable to make an impression. It got no better in the second, even after he was moved into his favoured centre-mid position. He looked sluggish on and off the ball, and seemed unable to keep up with play. In fact I think the only reason he stayed on the pitch for as long as he did was for the throw-in, and I don't think we can afford to carry him on the pitch any longer for that reason alone.
We've again got the obligatory thread slamming Whelan and others in criticism of Whitehead, but if Delap is the alternative we're in massive, massive trouble.
Fingers crossed we can get Gibson (or another) in on loan before Chelsea!

Disagree.
He was our best central midfielder again, once he moved there and before that he did an enormous amount of covering at the back. At one point Abdy got himself out of position and only Rory saw the danger, moved to centre back and cleared the attack.
Play Rory in the centre with a new midfield enforcer and he will bloom.

I'd have to see him consistently fail in central midfield before writing him off.
Playing him on the right is hanging him out to dry. It's a bit like judging Fuller if you were playing him at left-back.
I'm still not convinced that he isn't our best central midfielder, which isn't saying much admittedly.

Rory does nowt with his fet and his throws are becoming less and less effective with each game. Time to throw in your ball wiping towel Rory

He was woeful march.
He looks jaded, unfit and totally off the pace. Tottenham took the proverbial out of him and danced round him like he was a traffic cone.
It really is time to replace him and use him and his throws as an impact substitute in certain situations.
I genuinely think he is hampering certain individuals in our team, namely the poor souls who spend 80% of the game covering his backside!

Jumping to conclusions or what ! - in the centre of the park he rarely lets us down so to write him off 2 games into the season is wrong. Whelan is more worrying - he is having plenty of opportunity to impress and is not making much of a job of it.

I don't think he has ever had a bad game in the middle of the park.
It may be that time has finally caught up with him. It's rare to see people of his age playing at this level, but 2 predictably awful appearances on the right wing don't really tell us anything we didn't know before the season started

It looks like his legs have completely gone and he was lagging behind and not keeping up with play. He was blowing out of his arse by the end and he was chasing shadows by the end of the game. That said, I think he is still useful in the centre of midfield as long as he is played with a player like Gibson who can move the ball around. The throw needs binning unless it is against particularly vulnerable teams, or we are chasing the game in a really desperate situation.

Rubbish mate complete rubbish. Delap was just as bad when he moved inside. Is legs have gone and it time for a change.
