I love Bauhaus but I thought they'd ran out of ideas with the Ziggy cover. Didn't float me boat at all. Thought their version of 'Telegram Sam' was a minter though.

Nouvelle Vague. 'In a mannrr of Speaking' 'Ever Fallen in Love' 'Killing Moon' 'Too Drunk to Fuck' All fantastic, had tickets for Manc last week but missed 'em. Dang. I used to be well into Nouvelle Vague, Cheees. Played them regularly when I had a radio show. Them and probably Me First & The Gimme Gimmes were my most-played cover artists.
Had a quick hunt for it & can't find it but my favourite cover was probably "Sugar Sugar" by the Original Sins. All I can find is the other song on the single, "Just 14". Can't do too much heavy searching as I'm at work so a lot of sites would flag up with the IT police. I'll leave it to other cleverer souls than me to see if they would kindly find & link it. Ta.

Superb, could have been a Velvet's outtake ...

The Futureheads - Hounds of Love. The original always seems too slow once you've heard their version.

You've just reminded me of that awful version of Mrs Robinson by The Lemonheads..... the lad thinks it's mint. Evan Dando of the Lemonheads hated it too as it was just a throwaway thing they did for a reissue of The Graduate. Their label then pushed it and it's what they're best known for. They're one of my favourite bands with some great tunes though. It's About Time and Into Your Arms are really good.

Bit early in the year but no apologies for playing the greatest christmas B side ever released by a Belfast punk band. Two covers for the price of one.

Did like their version of Nicky Thomas' 'Love of the common people' Thinking about it SLF's cover of Bob Marley 'Johnny Was' is a belter too. One of me favourite Fingers tracks. {Reputedly written by Rita Marley apparently.}
