IF the club decided to use a special commemorative kit for one season for our 150th anniversary in 2013, which design would you prefer to see it based on? (A) Original "Stoke Ramblers" kit: (late 1860s) For: First kit we ever used 150 years ago. Against: Only used it for a few years, probably didn't actually play many games in it, colours might not be to everyone's taste. (B) Original "Stoke" kit: (1870-1883) For: Nicer colour scheme, longer period of time used, probably played a lot more games in it, first kit used as "Stoke" Against: Not the actual first kit. (C) Original "Stoke FC" kit: (1892-1893, 1894-1897, 1908-1915) For: More modern design, incorporates red, first kit used as "Stoke FC", used in our season of 100 years ago, used in the Football League Against: Maybe not as historically relevant. www.historicalkits.co.uk/Stoke_City/Stoke_City.htm

Red and white. I don't want a full season in any of those.
I understand what you mean about the away kit thing as you said on the other thread but there's a reason these were dropped in favour of 100+ years of red and white; because they're not as good.
I would hate the first option in any shape or form. The second would be a decent enough home kit, and the third would probably be the best home-shirt replacement, but as you say, it's historically irrelevant.

it would have to be the away kit
i hate hoops
i would say amongst neutrals we are more famous for our stripes than sunderlan, sheff utd and southhampton amongst others. it is important that we keep them four our centenary and a half
it would be nice though to have a plain strip with no sponsors or branding on the home shirt only
tbh i am more concerned that they get the celebration friendly and all the other stuff spot on

it would have to be the away kit Personally I just don't see the point in doing it as an away kit. To me there's nothing particularly special about having a "different" away kit when we change every year anyway. Here's roro's mock-up. Got to be honest I'd love to see us play in that as a home kit for a season. What if we swapped the kits and had this as the home and the R & W as the away, would that appease people?

It depends on which horse your riding they look like jockeys outfits

They do indeed.
I'd hazard that the reason why the strip has stuck at red and white is because it's the best design.
How about then, for example, we have the original kit as an away design and wear it for the home fixtures against any League Founder Members we happen to play that season, depending on what division we're in.

That Stoke rambler's kit is gash. They should do a 1963 style shirt with the V neck like Burnley had last year, go retro, but not victorian. The Blue and Red would be a shit idea for the away kit as well because red would clash with all the teams we'd need an away kit for, and we couldn't wear it at places liek Chelsea either so we'd only wear it against teams like Spurs.

I wouldn't mind the blue and Black one as an away kit for a season looks quite smart IMO.

I think it should be kit A for at home. With the history of the club its seems pointless to use a kit that wasn't the first kit. Its got the red, white and blue that we have now just arranged differently. This year the club ditched the full striped shirt for nothing but commercial reasons. If they don't consider this for our 150th anniversary then its a disgrace. I'd imagine they'd sell more of that kit than the one we've been lumbered with now. I bought this years away shirt instead of the home but I'd buy a reincarnation of the Stoke Ramblers shirt.

Lets face it. The Stoke Ramblers kits like wank and the colours wern't exactally 'future proof'. They just arent 'Stoke City' colours.
We are red and white and I'd imagine thats how 99% of our fans would want a commemorative kit to be.
I'd love a nice simple design, retro with a v neck and no Britannia logo (which would mean it'd be a one off and not a kit for a season I guess).

Lovin that, it would be nice if the brit logo could fit into one of the stripes so it doesn't over lap onto the blue and i think id make the date a little smaller and put it over the badge

I find it hard to believe that anyone seriously thinks that that is a nice kit.
It clashes so badly that it actually strobes.

I agree with Boother, everything about it is just shit and tacky. I like the idea of a red and white STRIPED not HOOPED kit with a V neck like the Sir Stan shirt with no sponsor, and even the old badge. It would look smart, people would still recognise it as a stoke shirt and it'd mark 50 years since 1963.

we should have this as an away shirt, with no sponsors logo (or small one on the arms)
and we should have a proper red n white home kit, maybe like the 1963 one as stated above

In any other context I don't suppose I'd see it as a "nice" kit, but I think roro's mock-up looks alright, and imo it would be an appropriate nod to our history for one season.

none, they are all wank.
Just a sleeve dedicated to the 150 years would be better.

I thought all the kits are interesting, but can't see anyone actually wearing the shorts from the pictures above. Its always good to stay in touch with the history, but the traditional red and white stripes are my absolute favourite.
