If we can grind out a few results, particularly against Bristol City. We need to pick up our form again, which is tough with Fuller out.
And I'm a one-time wankstain based on the fact I didn't believe Pulis had what it took to get us into a promotion position. But results speak louder than perceptions.

Don't invite "all the family" to look at your thread to be greeted by the term "wankstains"

I think we'll do it. And here's why:-
We have two very winnable home games against Blackpool and Leicester. I also strangely fancy us against the better sides at home and therefore think the games against Bristol and Palace are there for the taking. I can see neither beating us and cant envisage defeat. A draw against Bristol with our superior goal difference might be enough. It isnt the "must-win" game many are claiming, unless of course Britsol win the next five on the bounce.
Our away games look quite tasty too. We have a decent (ish) record at Wednesday and Coventry and shouldnt fear a poor Colchester. Although I have horrible memories from last season and Layer Rd, at fever pitch, is a nightmare venue.
I think one of TPs enduring qualities is setting up sides to avoid defeat and I actually think we have enough quality to win four from seven minimum. Especially if another striker arrives.
Players like Lawrence, Shawcross, Fuller and Whelan should be fresh having had sat out games due to suspension.
We also have a lot of experience in the side and players like Simmo, Nash, Riggott, Lawrence, Fuller, Gally, Cresswell and Whelan have had "big-match" experience. Ditto Diao, Griff and to a lesser degree Boothroyd should he stay.
It will not be pretty but the run-ins of the other three suggest we might not need the points total first envisaged. Watford, Hull, Plymouth, Bristol, WBA all have to take points off one another and I can see us scraping over the line as Champions.
I forecast a further 15 points and think 82 might do it this season.
WBAs cup run is great news for Stoke and a resurgent Plymouth/Hull/Palace/Wolves also good news for us.
Sorry for waffling MCF .....

Yes, by winning on the last day - I think we will have to win the last two games after slipping into third place.

i'm slowly coming around to the idea that we *could* get promoted - sadly i've got years of being disappointed as a stokie holding me back from being too optomistic.

a simple yes/no would of been sufficient dave nah reasonable answer but i would suggest that blackpool isnt going to be easy and to be honest i cant see us taking all three points. I know, I know call me a optimist but i dont think we are giving them enough credit, if any of you went blackpool this season you know as good as anyone we were second best that day.

I dont underestimate Blackpool at all, they are a fine footballing side and if we sit back they'll play us off the park. However we are top, we take the game to them dont we??? We dont sit deep. Thats asking for trouble.

Only if we get one of the auto slots, I can't see us winning the play-offs. So yes but maybe no. Is that clear enough Merk?

Alas, I think its the playoffs, its just a lifetime of Stokie under-achievement calling to me, the goals are drying up, and brilliant job that Pulis has done for a lot of the season with a threadbare squad, now he has some strength in depth with quality players, I`m not sure he has the ability to rethink strategy and tactics on the fly to cope with suspensions, injuries and particularly tactical switch arounds in the matches themselves. I would like to see a rallying Overson type call to arms from within the squad reflected in on the field performances that tell me the players themselves think they can do it, after-all, its up to them at the end of the day!

7 games/21 points remaining
If TP sets out 'not to lose' as he did at Watford, no
Otherwise, yes
Go on Stoke....
