Just because he lost in the play-offs doesn't make him a failure Cowboy. You seemingly have an agenda against him, despite the fact that Lou did an outstanding job for us.
He took on the club at it's lowest ebb and totally transformed it. Had he not departed for Celtic (and who could blame him) that team of his would have stormed its way into the top flight. Anything was possible back then.
On his return, he inherited a squad low in confidence due to the Jordan debacle, transformed dressing room morale and took a rag bag team to the play-offs against all the odds.
Ok we lost, but with a small squad and very little backing in the way of finances, the job he did was nothing short of outstanding.
They are facts Cowboy...hard facts!
Pulis has achieved nothing yet. He hasn't got us into the play-off's nor has he got us automatic promotion. With only 5 points from a possible 15, should we mess up automatic promotion, who is to say that we will come through the lottery that is the play-offs.
Should we fail, Mr Pulis will have nowhere to hide, no excuses to fall back on, and like Lou, he will have failed to live up to your idea of success.
For others, failure this season, would be taken on the chin, with us accepting the signs of improvement and hoping that we can complete the job next year.
Slagging Lou is futile. To those who weren't around to witness the Waddo years, Lou's original team was the best that we have seen. Despite this years excellence, his team was better to watch, had more lovable characters, and had better players than the team we are watching now, save for probably the goalkeepers! All that, without the record budget that Pulis has enjoyed this year, where he has seemingly been able to sign anyone he has wanted.
The facts are that Lou did an exceptional job under very difficult circumstances during both his tenures at the club, and similarly, it could be argued that Pulis is also doing an exceptional job!
It could even be argued that Lou and Pulis are managers from the same mould, with similar outlooks and similar ideas of how best to get your team performing.

Stoke played some marvellous football under Lou. He took on a dire 2nd division team and transfomed it to give us some great memories, Promotion, Wembley win, Mark Stein and a team that was capable of beating Vale amongst them.
How anyone could see him ina bad light is beyond me?

By rights, we shouldn't have been anywhere near the play offs in 1995/96. That Lou got us so close to glory from basically nowhere deserves the highest of praise.

Er, sorry to go against the grain on this one but most of what the press said about the Watford match was true.
