anyone got the route ? I will go out and give him a cheer OTW the route can be found here www.c2c-guide.co.uk/the-route/Not sure on timings, other than he is due to set off around 6.30 to 07.00 05.30 to 06.00am correction* on the Saturday morning from Whitehaven Docks - the rest will be pure estimation ;D *due to a festival taking place on the same day It would be good if we could get a few Stokies up there on the Sunday evening to cheer them home. Anyone fancy it?

Help as been given so far by Bayernoatcake, Frosty, StokingStokie, NJKK and Nick Pye who are all messaging other football fans through messageboards. Thanks to all of you. We do need a few more volunteers to spread the word and respond to updates - just 10 to 15 minutes per day would be great if you can spare it and help this great cause.

Fair few ex-pros on twitter are retweeting. Anybody know of a fair few more pros that might be able to help out? So far: John Hartson, Duncan Ferguson, Danny Dichio, Jody Craddock, Gavin Peacock (waiting for Collymore to reply)...anyone other ex-pros might be on twitter and able to help?

Tonge is a dab hand on a bike right? I know he's not exactly favoured by Stoke but would be great to get him riding too

A decent response from the QPR board, one on there has already said he should be able to put £10 towards it. No response off the others yet and believe it or not, I posted on thefootballforum.net and the post was deleted Anyway... I have now managed to hit the West Ham board (KUMB) www.kumb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=123515

Just seen there had been a £100 donation from someone! Duncan Ferguson should be donating today but mark bright has said no which I found fair tbh since he probably does genuinely support other charities aswell

I hope to meet Rory on the route somewhere just after Keswick - I'll take a few pictures if I do see him and get them up on here sometime tomorrow.
All I have to do now is work out his exact route and timings - hopefully by using the car I should be able to get pictures of him in quite a few places.

Apologies for the lack of updates but I have been away over the weekend and had no internet access. Well done to Rory and the team wo completed the ride at 1:50 ish on Sunday and then made a dash back to his parents in the Carlisle area in the van to catch the England game. So far £1232 has been donated via the just giving page ( www.justgiving.com/RorysBigBikeRide ), thank you to those who have donated. For those of you who don't like to make payments over the internet, Frosty86 has set up a bucket collection at the B&Q superstore in Meir on the tills. We have also reduced our prices on men's and women's Rory related t shirts and will be donating £1 from each sale to the DLT. Mugs have also been discounted with the same donation applying. I will also be auctioning a few Signed Longthrow mugs with all proceeds going to the DLT. If you can support this great cause via any of the methods above I know it will be greatly appreciated.

As I have just explained to Rob in a Personal Message that I missed seeing Rory on Saturday morning. I was certainly early enough as I reached the normal route the Coast to Coast cycle route takes out of Keswick at 7 am and walked about 4 miles of it to Threlkeld (and back) taking my time and getting back to the car at 10:40 am. Keswick is about 30 miles from Whitehaven via the route's country lanes so I'm sure I was early enough and I would have expected them to reach where I was well before 10:30. Never mind, whatever the reason was, I missed them. I suspect they took one of several variations to the route you can take (possibly via the Castlerigg Stone Circle?) and we passed a mile or so apart. Either that or they were VERY late in starting or very slow! However, I had my camera with me and photographed about 4 picturesque miles of the route and I did see several groups on the Coast to Coast ride including some very professional looking "pelotons" one of which I photographed. Here are the photgraphs of my morning - despite not seeing Rory I did give Polly (the dog) a good walk and photographed: a roe deer, a heron, a mysterious sight in the forest - and a red squirrel in my garden whilst I was having my brekkie! Enjoy the pics picasaweb.google.co.uk/fornside/KeswickRailwayPath#

Well Done Uncle Rory xxxx £2,000 I see it's from someone called Freddie. I reckon it's Ryan donating in the name of his son Freddie. After his suspension Ryan said that he and Rory were close mates and that Rory often visited Ryan at home so I guess Freddie might know Rory as "Uncle".

Tommy donated a couple of grand last year I remember. We do have some really nice players at our club keen to do their bit.
