Saw one in Burton on Trent this afternoon! Just coming out of the Byrkley Arms it was. Surprising what large sizes they must come in!! Cheeky sod. It's a bloody medium. Honest ;D Can I just say though, get over it. It's a shirt. Who complained about the abortion we had in our first year back in the prem? No one. We were just happy to be in the league. I take it that hideous one fat stripe fits the bill of the 'keep the stripes brigade'. Looked great on a fat bloke didn't it. Well I hated it and as for that yellow crimpolene monstrosity. Utter crap. So give over about the shirts, please.

Utter crap. So give over about the shirts, please. Apart from a few kids who were sent into a frenzy of 'lolololol we look like Ajax AWESOME LULZ', there were very, very few people who actually liked that kit. It was an absolute abomination (and the away kit was just plain horrible), although I don't think it was quite as bad as this one.

I just don't remember the self righteous breast beating over that abomination, we've had over the "no stripes", "lost our heritage", " plain red back", "looks like Liverpool", current effort. Why don't we just play in claret and blue hoops and have done with it

I saw the long-sleeved one in the pub yesterday, not too keen at all, the front is bad enough - but the solid red back just confuses me.

Bought mine from Adidas Direct for 15 quid, 6 weeks ago All this bollocks about 'its only a shirt get over it' is getting on my tits. Its not just a shirt, its about our chief exec selling out our tradition and history. A plain red backed football shirt has no place at Stoke City FC! Its wrong all wrong plain and fucking simple! And i know all those people who disagree with me will say "if you dont like it, dont buy it" and i wont buy it! Shirt rant over!

The main issue I see with the shirt ignoring the back of course is...... well....... ..........It is the wrong fucking colour, since when have Stoke ever played in such a dark coloured red, Christ on a bike, if you are going to make 75% of the shirt Red at least get the closest colour to our traditional red. Get it sorted Scholes it is an abortion.

Saw it in the flesh for the first time today at tesco. I'm strongly against how wank it is, but its just laugable how bad it is.
Saw it from the back at first with Delap 24 on, it looks exactally like a liverpool shirt. then the front just looks slap dash, the stripes look like they've faded in the frigging wash and the 80's looking stripes are wank.
Saw another young lad with Faye 25 on the back, I guess the names and numbers kind of detract the lack of stripes.
It just reeks of cheap smuggy chief executive wank festery. Cheap nasty looking shirt. If you feel obliged to buy one because its a Stoke shirt, go retro chaps.
To be honest I've seen loads more people wearing last seasons shirt over the last week.

the people who have only started going stoke in the last couple of years will buy the kit to show how 'loyal' they are

Err ..the stripes on the front - the fact they are red and white ....that would seem a pretty fair summary of the esentials to me !

Shouldn't a Stoke strip essentially have stripes front AND back! And whole stripes not shitty ones with dots on the edge? And one colour red? All essentials, all completely FUCKED!

Post by Olgrligm on Jun 6, 2010 20:25:29 GMT
There are some fuzzy dark red and white stripes on the front. Those stripes are sort of like Coventry trotting out in navy blue next season.

Post by wuzza on Jun 6, 2010 20:28:49 GMT
Well theres a cracking example for you - Coventry have had every which way of sky blue (and darker blue) on their shirts. Stripes, solid colour you name it - have their fans collapsed in a hissy fit everytime its happened ...probably not.
and while on the topic - take a quick review of Southampton, Sheff Utd etc shirts over the years. I think you will find they have not been overly precious on the subject either !

Ahh so because some gullible cunts at other clubs aren't bothered, we shouldn't? Bollocks to that.
