Foul.
You're not giving us the full picture Wakefield - is he a BOGOTF with Scotty Parker & Noble?
Well then yes, of course.

Blimey I'd snap your hands off for that deal. I came around to Whitehead in the end and the middle of his season was decent but was bookended by two quite dismal spells at the start and the end of the season.
Players like Whitehead are much easier to find and attract to your club from elsewhere than players like Cole.

Well let me be the first to say an emphatic NO (twice). But surely Carlton Cole would add more quality to the team then Deano?

The Dean Whiteheads are ten a penny but Carlton Cole is genuine class, and for a straight swap between a £3m clogger and an England striker, hells to the yeah pour moi.
I like Deano but he's never going to set the world alight is he?

It's not ALL about quality though Irish is it. I'd like Cole, if he was reasonably attainable, but he is massively over-rated at the prices being bandied about for me. We certainly need a good striker but I (obviously unlike many) have been very impressed with Deano this past season. I want to see a quality Centre Midfield player brought in to play with Deano and people would then appreciate just what a good player Deano is. People say that there are "plenty of Whiteheads available" well I'd dispute that and remember we will have to cough up £5 Million for Dean in the end. It took him quite a while to get started and no way would I want him going now. I'm not disputing that we need a good striker and Cole looks pretty good (with one good season) but certainly not £10 Million worth plus crazy wages AND lose (IMO) our best CM. It's a question of balancing all those things and no way is Cole worth that. Much rather we went out and signed Fletcher (another one who's had one good season) but looks well suited to us and much better financially, and keep Deano. Makes much more sense to me, and lest we forget recent history, we could end up with a £25 Million FLOP (including wages). I wouldn't be doing that deal thanks.

Whitehead improved massively but for me he does nothing that a Whelan/Delap partnership aren't capable of.

No,I love Deano too much ;D Can't see why that would ever happen tho I think a Cole/KJ or Ric one would have a lot of posters unsure though

Can you imagine a team with KJ and Sidibe up front? Jesus Christ. Maybe that's the way to go... Scrap a midfielder, have two targetmen and a poacher... ... I hope not.

Whitehead is a very limited midfielder by prem standards good engine but very little else to shout about. Cole looks prety decent, is a real handfull his finishing leaves room for improvement but he's a real upgrade on Mama and is pretty ideal for us if we must continue playing the Pulis way.

Carlton Cole would be the signing of the season for me, especially if it's to replace Mama. He's ideal. Whitehead is easily replaceable
