They will prob be looking to sign 3 players for the wages that Beats would command. I can see it being tough to shift BT this summer unless he has decided he would rather play then earn, something he decided against in Jan

Beattie is interested in getting games and getting paid. If Blackpool can pay his ridiculous salary, I'm sure he'll speak to them. After all, he'll get a season in the Premier League, regardless of whether Blackpool are whipping boys or not. However, I think he'd favour West Brom.

If they'll pay him what he asks, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to Blackpool. As someone else has pointed out, it's a much easier drive than West Brom, for training and home games.

Hark back to Ollies post match interview he wants "real people not millionaires", I think this rules Beattie out of the equasion and could be a pointer to Blackpool struggling even more than people expect them to. Quality counts in the Premier league and you don't get quality if you pay shit wages. another Derby on the cards unless he mellows his opinion, I think.

Christ if Beattie thought he was a big fish in a small pond here at Stoke then he'll feel like a fuckin whale in a goldfish bowl at Blackpool.
Ian Olly wouldn't touch a Beattie type on £40k a week with a barge pole in my opinion. Plus, the fact that he's top mates with Pulis who wouldn't exactly have spoken highly of him in the last six months.

Am i right in thinking beattie asked fulham for £63,000 a week on deadline day and they told him piss off? The press reported that he asked for a 10 grand a week increase on what he's getting at Stoke ... whether that's true or not, I have no idea.

Not sure of the amount that Beattie requested on deadline day but I do know that he wasn't prepared to take any pay cut at all.
Now lets remember that Beattie still thought (up till about a year ago) that he was good enough for an England call-up. Fulham were in a sound position in the Premier League and were in a European competituion in which they did superbly in. Surely any player wanting first team football and teh chance to stayu in the Premier league would have moved at any cost.
In my opinion James Beattie is an A1 tosspot of the highest order and he completly sums up what is wrong with the modern day professional footballer. Its the players like the ones at Blackpool who have prooved that you don't need big time charlies in order to achieve something special. That team spirit and togetherness is more important than individuality and egotystical money grabbing wankers like Beattie.
I hope he ends up in wolves' reserves, playing football in the championship in two years time.

Given the fact that they only got promoted 48 hrs ago how on earth will Holloway be thinking about Beattie and that Hollyway wen't straight home to Bath and that he's probably still got the mother of all hangovers. Yet again pure fantasy on your behalf, you need to get out more mate, it's becoming farcical now.

If Blackpool sign him,he will be the only thing there, heavier and slower than the Tower. You obviously haven't seen Ben Burgess recently then! He looks like the love child of Jon "The Beast" Parkin and Neil "Razor" Ruddock! He'll always be a legend for his beautifully taken OG for Brentford though ;D
