... and I'm glad it was against Hull rather than against a decent team who would have punished us ;D
At least half the team were on their summer holidays by the looks of things. Lawro and Collins were particularly horrendous, but for me, only Ethers comes away with better than a 6/10.
I'm hoping TP picks them up for the game against Wolves, because I would hate to have spent £38 for a repeat of today! Overall its been an excellent season though, and we got the result today, so I suppose its pretty unfair to complain too much!

I didn't think they were fantastic today but you were clearly watching a different game from me. I personaly thought Whelan was our worst player......and then Sidibe came on.

Tunny and Faye were very good, Huth and Higgy were solid and Kits had a god game so to say everyone but Ethers was poor is unfair. That said though Liam, apart from a wonderful goal, and particularly Whelan were shocking

Crap game all round and Hull or West Ham will "fight" it to the death - depending on there interpretation of fight. Amazed at Hull - looked awful and seemed to have accepted that Championship football is a given for them. Perhaps they should see how dreadful West ham were last week and it might have changed there minds. Anyway if we play bad and still win it can't be all bad news.

Thought Collins did well. Lawrence is abslolutely shite. Whelan was poor. Faye, Ethers and Kitson played well.

With games i'm convinced Lawrence will be a big player for us, he's a very good footballer and i'm sure that goal will boost his confidence. Expect him to have a cracker against Wolves.
Our defence is ridiculously good, and i think that's the main reason for where we are, coupled with having a couple of genuine top class attacking players in Fuller and Etherington.

I think the home game Vs Portsmouth earlier on in the season was much worse than today.
Today wasn't great either!

Defence was solid against a pretty dire attack. Ethers was classy, Kitson really good in the air - no one else really had a good day. Hopefully Whelan and Lenny are going to come through a bad patch sooner rather than later. Seen a few posts praising Tunny but I really dont see where that comes from based on today's efforts.

I thought we didnt get out of 2nd gear, it all seemed to easy because Hull were that bad.
Surely its a good thing that we can play at way less than 100% and still win a game fairly comfortably. More and more we are looking like a confident and steady premier league team, and in only our 2nd season.

We weren't great but we did enough for the win with some comfort and that's fine by me. Also, how you can give Huth anything short of an eight is beyond me.

From watching today I would argue that Lawrence, although his goal was well taken, appears too slow at this level. Collins for me, had another excellent game. Etherington was my MOTM.

It was an off-day for us. Lawrence and Whelan were disappointing and too many silly free kicks were given away in dangerous positions. Good to have three points in the bag despite a poor day at work. Ringtone and Huth did well, though.

thought they were alright today, did the usual stoke thing of not taking advantage of an early goal. tuncay trips over his feet too much.

Thought we played Ok in the first half and controlled the game with out giving Hull much of a look in, Just a pity we could not get the second goal and put the game to bed.
While it was still 1 - 0 in the second half it gave Hull more confidence and they had to go after us to get a result, and the longer it went on the more we sat back and let Hull take hold of the midfield. They only really created one decent chance and we always looked like we could hit them on the break, which is what happened
Not the best of performances, but it is always a good sign when you take 3 points with out being at your best.

My man of the match. I think we have a real class act here and hopefully the mainstay of our defense for a few more years.

It was by no means a good game today but as for the worst performance of the season, I still can't see beyond the Man Utd game. We were so lucky to 'get away with' a 2 goal defeat that day.
I did think that Lawrence (apart from his goal obviously) put in a pretty good attempt to win worst individual performance of the season award though, just beating Beattie's substitute appearance against Man City into second.

hmm, dont agree at all. however, after FULLER scored we went very flat and let Bullard (again) take over midfield). i personally think the misery that was the home game against Liverpool was much worse

We're clearly half the side without Fuller anyway, that's proved everytime he's not on and we've GOT to think about possible players who can do his job 2 or 3 years down the line.

It was the sort of performance a clearly better team with nothing much to play for puts in. We didn't need to do anymore. Hull were never in it. After the first goal we could have built up a head of steam but the injury delays took the bite out of it. Shows how far we've come I suspose.
