Met him once and he was a cunt. I told him so too. Nothing yet has made me change my mind but i live in hope. What you actually said to his face ... "Gary Lineker you are a cunt!" ? Fair play if you did mate.

Fair play if you did mate. OK that may be slightly paraphrased but he was left with no doubt what i thought about him. ;D It's a long story and i'm off to bed now but i'll PM you tomorrow or shove it on here when i get a moment.

To be honest I've had enough of the whole MOTD scenario, I very rarely watch it. Lineker, Hansen and Shearer are just smarm personified. It really gets on my tits. They just suck up to the big clubs, much prefer MOTD 2.

Christ, when did we get so precious?? All fans are precious and always have been. A throw-in the wrong way, a disallowed goal, an ex-Stoke player - all of them offend our sensibilities. Stoke have a reputation for direct, basic, 'horrible' football. This is more true of us a couple of years ago. These days it does Stoke a disservice to be labelled thus. Lineker as the anchor man on the biggest football show on british TV does take every opportunity to reinforce an outdated reputation of Stoke. It grates.

He may read some of a script but there's no doubt about it he adds his comments I'm currently studying studio production at level 2, every time he looks at the camera the teleprompter shows a script which he must read, which is written by the producers, the only time his comments actually come from him are when they analyse matches and they have a discussion between themselves.

I think there's a bit of paranoia creeping in again . On a programme stuffed with goals, our game produced four rather feeble attempts on goal. What would you expect a neutral's opinion to be? For Stoke fans watching it live, it was exciting because we seemed to have a real chance of nicking it throughout the second half. But an edited summary with few highlights showed it to be game of few chances, and little skill from either side. Lineker was criticising the game - not our club.

as someone has already said, he reads off an autocue, he doesn't write it. But he is allowed to express his own opinions. Rarely if ever hear his making such derogatory, sarcastic remarks about the favoured teams, no matter how dire the matches. Still, a twat is a twat, so true to form, he confirms it by his comments.

He just does it to wind Nick Hancock up, so if the reaction on here is anything to go by, it probably works!

Have modified my stance to 'Who gives a stuff about whatsisface from Nagoya Grampus Eight'.

I disagree that he was just reading this from a script written by someone else, this was just another in a long line of his witless sneers.

sorry, but I had a chuckle at it, whether or not it was written by Linker or he just read it off an autocue, is irrelevant, it is an opinion, may well be true and as a 0:0 draw is not usually a stunning spectacle of the beautiful game I have no problem with it.
get over it.

2 teams playing Pulisball at its most unattractive and the outcome was inevitable a dire game lacking in everything except decent defending.

2 teams playing Pulisball at its most unattractive and the outcome was inevitable a dire game lacking in everything except decent defending. Both teams played some good football in the second half, both teams went for the win, and either could have won it. Give me that over Chelsea smashing some cannon fodder any day of the week.

Every week I see on here people getting furious and aggrieved about something on MOTD. A lot of the time it's hardly worth mentioning let alone using as a reason to hurl vicious abuse around.

Neither team would have scored if they’d have carried on playing till 6-0clock today. There was distinct lack of any sort of quality football on show. The game was a dire non-spectacle and the only thing worse between 3pm and 5.50pm was the dismal weather.

I don’t know which part of the ground you were sitting or which substance was warping your mind but I can assure you that my stroll to the Power League and then onto the ground and the 2 hours I spent there were cold windy and very cloudy.

The game was a dire non-spectacle and the only thing worse between 3pm and 5.50pm was the dismal weather. Huth had two good efforts on goal. Friedel had to stop Fuller's cross getting to Whelan. Fuller danced around 3 defenders before scuffing his shot. Milner put a free kick inches wide. Heskey just missed getting on the end of a ball across the box. We deflected a goal bound shot into the side netting with the keeper beaten. Higgy cleared a goal bound shot over his own bar. That was all in the second half.
